Duncan was showing signs of sucking during his free agent year. It made no sense to give him all those years. They panicked paid him.

further, what does it say about Heat front office when posters on this forum were saying to trade them during 2020 offseason because their value would never be higher?

should the Heat hire me? yes. ill take the corner office thanks

could you imagine posters on this forum held positions in Heat FO!? We'd have a different roster every season  Fickle bunch panic wld ensue regularly & players wld be rotating on trade block

Give one of us $200k a year and the ability to nix one signing per year. Last year would be Duncan. This year Herro. Next year, prolly Strus or Vincent.

I would give San Antonio or Indiana our 2023 pick just to get Duncan off the books and get a trade exemption. We could also sign some free agents since we would be away from the tax.

I’d be ok with that deal. Duncan is going to reach Whiteside toxicity levels both in trade value and on the team culture if he isn’t moved soon. He was not happy with his minutes in the playoffs, but it looked like he tried even less than he was trying before to earn em.

Hoping Yurtseven, Robinson, and 2023 unprotected pick could get us either Barnes or Turner.

I ain't mad @Ainge, I'm irritated w/ Wolves the f*cktards for happily accepting it w/out a bidding war :nonono:

It was a ridiculous trade. It says more about the Wolves getting bent over than Ainge. It destroyed free agency. Out here trearing Golbert like prime Shaq.

we may already have either KD or Mitchell if it wasn't for that ridiculous transaction. it's affecting us right at this very moment

That exec said the Heat wouldn't let Duncan go without getting a first rounder back. The reporter had a reply to someone taking issue with Riley asking for no protections confirming Riley is actually the one asking for a first rounder. Not the one attaching a first rounder to dump Duncan.

For a capped out team then and now how exactly does a trade work for a star without Duncan's salary? There is a reason they gave Dedmon the money they did. So when he becomes tradeable he's at a higher salary that could help facilitate a deal. For all the talk about what it would cost to get rid of Duncan, he's the only guy on the roster that helps get a trade done unless Lowry is involved. Oh and just a btw, Kevin Huerter who the HEAT just tortured for 5 games where he shot 36% for the series just went for a first round pick. With 4 years and 64 million dollars on his new extension. Duncan actually scored 27 in game 1 of that series.

Duncan has 3 guaranteed years left on his deal with an early termination option for the final year. In reality a team can have a pretty damn good movement shooter on their team who was good enough to start the majority of the time on a Finals team and #1 seed for 2 years. Then use that final year as potential expiring contract in a trade.

I think this is just BK trying to get us to pony up. It's quite obvious. They know he needs to be traded & KD expects to be traded. KD will be 34. Time is not on his hands.
