We need to know which 6 1sts they are. If that includes the 3 we just got this past draft, big deal. Those 3 are not that good at all with the protections. And maybe 2 more unprotected, which should not be good picks either because we'll be winning 45-50 games with Mitchell/Brunson/Randle/RJ, right?

It's really important to understand what we're kind of 1sts we're talking about.

Having interest in Mitchell and having the assets to present an offer that is competitive with the Knicks offer are two different things... as soon as the Knicks have a better offer than all other suitors, anything more than that is bidding against themselves.

Good question but I bet he does.. He didn't want to take the heat but he'll jump at the chance to be put on a pedestal for bringing on Mitchell/Brunson in one season. It will be his chance to say 'I told you so'.
