He missed his first playoffs with injury and watched rookie Tatum and our other young guys take us to the ECFs. And didn't even sit on the sidelines to support them. He actually scheduled an elective dental procedure during Game 7 of the ECFs.

Then at the start of the following season he publicly insulted them and said they don't know how to win without him. And to get the attention back on himself he stood up at the Garden and told everyone he was re-signing.

Then we had a mediocre season and he said the RS doesn't matter and the playoffs should just start so he can be a basketball genius and lead us to a title.

Then the playoffs started and he had the most inefficient playoff series on high volume shooting of any NBA player since the 1960s. And after each game he promised to play better and pass the ball more, but didn't. Then he said "who cares" and visibly gave up.

Then he went back on his word to re-sign and bounced to the Nets. Which imo was the only good part of his Celtics career.

Then while in Brooklyn he continued to say unflattering things about the Celtics and stomped on the leprechaun and did the sage burning thing haha.

So yeah. Quite a few reasons.

During game 7? Are you sure? I know he's Kyrie and all, it just seems selective dental surgery AT 8:30PM ON SUNDAY is a bit unlikely, don't you think?

That's the excuse he personally gave for missing the game. It wouldn't surprise me if he was faking it, but that wouldn't exactly be redeeming.

Thanks. I was also of the opinion at that time that Kyrie wanted to bring KD to Boston. Creating 1 max slot for KD would not be a problem for Celtics, Dany would have taken care of it.
I still think that at that time when Kyrie met KD, Kyrie genuinely wanted KD to join him in Boston. But somethings happened after this meeting between Kyrie and Celtics (FO/Coaching/Media/Fans?) which alienated Kyrie from Celtics and they end up together in Nets instead.

i think boston is doing a good job of singling itself out with repeated incidents of racist fans in all major professional sports... there's a reason why boston is known as the most racist northern city amongst minorities (and they have moved out in droves to get away from it) and minority professional athletes.
