There's a bit of chatter that the Jazz and Knicks already reached an agreement for the framework of the deal as of Friday. It's possible that a deal will be announced early this coming week, and it's also possible that one or both parties want to expand the deal to move a couple additional pieces around.

Buzz asked for his source and this was his response

Someone with a connection to the Jazz organization. He also called the timing of the Gobert trade to Minnesota. He's saying that a deal was basically done, and he expected it to be announced on Friday. Could be any day from here, unless the deal is being expanded.

Another source on RealGM's Heat board said that the Jazz contacted the Heat on Friday and told the Heat that they were know longer in the running for Mitchell and could move on with their other plans. This would mean that the Jazz no longer needed the Heat for leverage with the Knicks.

He could just be a slow starter. He looked better in real NBA games. Not worried about him as he is still a damn good backcourt defender with some height. And his stroke looks good. Thats all we would need from him as a complement for our backcourt should IQ go and we keep Grimes instead.

Sure he is nice but he shouldn't be a hold up on trading for a star. He is a complementary piece. And those are easy to get. We've had plenty. What we haven't had in over a decade is a star. He can go along with all the picks.
