You guys are both lying. I can remember getting Charleston Chews in my halloween haul in the mid 80s.

They were disappointing, old-people candy then (same with Mary Janes, Oh Henry bars, and Bit-O-Honey), but they were definitely around.

hate to break it to you but i think they gave you expired candy from the 50s

Drake's Cakes, Jolly Ranchers, Pixie Sticks, Fireballs, Candy Dots on paper rolls. It's a wonder any of us got out of childhood alive

i wasn't alive in the 60s. in the 70s and 80s there weren't that many shows. we watched reruns of everything. they used to show 50s shows. i've seen like all of the honeymooners 10 times because they showed it every single night at 11 or 11:30 for like 30 years.
