Rookie associates Russell Westbrook with the word “bricks”

Post#1 » by Johnny Fontane » Mon Jul 18, 2022 2:17 pm

San Antonio Spurs rookie Jeremy Sochan said he was "not intending on being disrespectful" to Russell Westbrook when he associated the word "bricks" with the Los Angeles Lakers star.

In a social media video that went viral over the weekend, Sochan and fellow Spurs rookie Malaki Branham are shown participating in a word association game during this month's NBA summer league in Las Vegas.

Brantham, hoping Sochan would guess the word "triple-double," offered his teammate the hint: "Russell Westbrook get 'em a lot." Sochan immediately guessed "bricks," prompting Brantham to respond, "No, no, no!"

Anyone have the video?

It was on bleacher report's twitter feed but they deleted it. Westbrook's PR team must have got to them.

That's pretty hilarious.

Maybe it'll make Russ angry enough next season that when they play the Spurs, he actually exerts some effort on defense.

That's fine. He still sucks at shooting. Giving the dude a forearm shiver won't change that. :meditate:

Who cares. It was funny, it was a joke. Westbrook only gets so butthurt because it's true.

Westbrook can cry all day long, he worked hard and relentless for this nickname.

And pls stop that crap about his poor kids when Westbrook was a decade long one of the biggest loudmouths/taunting/flexing towards the crowd in opponents arenas

Wouldn't it also be possible that the rookie maybe even asked for it to be removed. I have called out Westbrook's awful misses on multiple occasions (literally some of the worst misses I have seen by anyone attempting to score a basketball anywhere around the world including random streetball courts with people who play basketball once a month), but I also get the feeling that as a rookie you don't necessarily want to draw too much attention by dissing a future hall of famer, former MVP, perennial all-star etc.

And, yea, I sometimes get Larry Wheels basketball vibes from Westbrook when he unleashes bricks. For those who don't know, Larry Wheels is a powerlifter who benches 645 lbs, squats 950 lbs etc. Here's a video of him hoopin

So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

A player should never admit that some line of trolling bothers them. It's just an invitation to be attacked.

It's fine. Westbrook takes his butt in the post and shows the rook what's up.
