It will be more expensive, not sure why anyone would think it would be equal or less.

There were no other suitors for AD or Jrue, at the end of the day Ainge can always just wait till the deadline.

The Knicks don't have LeBron or Giannis to cater to.

Ainge can wait until the deadline if he wants to ruin his tank, risk Mitchell getting injured, risk Donovan going public and lose a little value because he's trading Mitchell with a year less of control on his deal.

There's quite a few legit reasons that Ainge wants this done before the season.

The main one being nobody has the draft capital that the Knicks do and they won't have it by the deadline either.

If the Knicks were going to trade 4 unprotected firsts, they would have done so by now.
