It's hard to imagine the Nets getting to a place where it's worth it for either side. Because of that, I think he'll probably be traded after this season. Beyond that, his trade value will start to rapidly decline.

So saying he won't play enough games to be worthy of his contract, is a contradiction of reality.
The less he plays, the more worthy he'll be of his contract, because he'll be more rested and more able to dominate the playoffs.

What happened last year then? He missed almost 30 games, and got swept.

His numbers were down across the board (compared to the RS) and he shot 38.6% from the field

He played too many games just before the playoffs.
He played the last 19 games of the regular season and 38.6 minutes per game, and 31.1ppg 7.6apg 7.4rpg.

There is no trade that will result in him on a top 6 team other than Warriors. This next move will likely cement is total titles at max 2 or possibly 5.

With the rate of inflation 40 mil is going to be a bargain for a top 10 player which I fully expect from Durant the next few years. Having someone pushed onto your knee doesn’t make you injury prone. He has been playing at an elite level since his Achilles injury. He’s still a top 5 player as we speak. Some of the posts here have Max Kellerman vs Brady vibes.
