I was hoping for a complete Justified reboot instead of an 8 episode one off. But I'll take it. If it's good maybe they'll do more.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Finished up The Bear last night. Great show. Glad to see they got a 2nd season.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

It looks like Apple is going to add the ability to start from the beginning for a live sporting event and to pause/rewind. This is big. I've only watched their baseball telecasts when the Brewers have been on it but it sounds as if they may be adding some NFL games in the next couple of years. Amazon needs to do the same for their Thursday night football package. Bucks and Packers I watch live but some other games I may record if I'm not going to be home when they start. If I am getting home at 7:45 on a Thursday night I'll miss the first 45 minutes of the game on Prime. That sucks. So does not being able to pause or rewind. Hopefully they follow Apple's lead.

The old man was pretty disappointing after a hot start. Probably going to wait and see about S2.

It was originally supposed to be a longer season. But in the middle of it came COVID, and Jeff Bridges' lymphoma that he needed chemo for. Then he got COVID and had a hell of a time with that it sounds like.

Anyway the show was rewritten for a hurried conclusion to the season with the idea that the story would be completed now in season two.

I finished the book last week and it's really bad. The show is actually much better, even with the abrupt finale.

Can't wait for tonight's BCS! Only 4 episodes left, so each one is going to be like Christmas morning.

I did see that. It makes sense, b/c this 'finale' seemed like a middle of the season ep. I'm still going to wait and see. There just isn't a whole lot of action (when there is, it is great) and the plot is meh.

Agree. I'm over my malaise from e1. Excited to see how it ends.

Yea it hasn't blown me away. Generally spy type things are up my ally but I have to admit to dozing off during several of these episodes. Don't get me wrong, it's well done, written, acted, etc but it is quite slow.

Updated on 7/24

Spoiler:
It looks like were gonna be in full BB mode after next week. It appears both Jessie and Walt will be in next weeks episode. They're moving pretty quick now.

I wonder if we'll see the grave scene. "Not Lalo!".

7/24: https://deadline.com/2022/07/better-call-saul-bryan-cranston-and-aaron-paul-1235072135/

This is the article I read. This is the last sentence of the article: "The Journal also reports Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston will appear on the July 25th episode of Better Call Saul."

Now we'll see if it's right.

Big episode.

On the spoiler:
Spoiler:
Looking like it's gonna be right. The description for the episode is- a new player gets in the game... Wonder who that could possibly be?!? 8-)

For some of you guys that are perpetually looking for a show to binge. Halt and Catch Fire was so great, been meaning to try and watch it again, but not sure I have a service where it is available

Not at all what I was expecting.
Spoiler:
That being said, loved mall cop Jerry Gergich and Gene teaching himself the history of Huskers football to be able to small talk with him effectively. Gene did his last Jimmy con and said goodbye to Saul when he hung up the shirt/tie on the rack. Not significant, also not insignificant.

i agree on all of that. They couldve made it 15 minutes instead of 45 though.

Seems like a waste of precious little airtime left.

On Better Call Saul's pen-pen-penultimate episode:

Spoiler:
I was hoping for more. Not that it wasn't and artful and smart and impactful episode in and of itself. Just that with so few episodes left, the expectation for more is greater. Only 3 left.

The Bear is great, and the Wilco song at the end of episode 1 was the perfect chicago-y touch. I also feel a lot of diversity on recent television feels inauthentic. It feels real on this show, or at least in line with my experience growing up in Chicago.

i dont know what surprises or extreme drama we are going to get yet, outside of something happening to gene, when its back in the BraBa timeline, we already know everyones fate. Looks like from a teaser next week will have more gene

The Bear

Spoiler:
When they broke into Let Down by Radiohead in the last scene I just about lost my ****. It's my favorite crescendo and song by them. Episode 7 has me wanting to go back and experience all that anxiety again. Top-notch performances and writing. Between the family dynamics, cultural issues, and generational dynamics addressed I give it an A+

Yeah, for sure. Gilligan just couldn't help himself-- he needed the main character of the show to tie up his past loose ends in a super creative way. In the Gene timeline, Jimmy and Saul are dead. There is still hope for a Kim reunion in this timeline, soooo many Omaha references throughout their relationship and that's where Kim is from, judging by the flashback scene with she and her mom shoplifting.

And we know, at least, that we dip back into the BB timeline as Cranston and Paul are credited. Gilligan won't screw us, he's too good.
