Nothing but complaining about Knicks being unfairly covered and how it’s a conspiracy. They think Dolan gets unfairly maligned.

Today the theme is after what OBI did at the Miami pro league he should be untouchable outside of a deal for Giannis.

Is this just satire? Or is Knicks Twitter mentally Ill?

I attribute this to the younger generation of Knicks fans. I’m not trying to sound like an old man yelling at the clouds and how it was better in my day but the newer generation is soft when it comes to getting criticized. You can see it with todays players too. Most of the guys get all worked up if an analyst on TV makes a valid criticism. These fans are the same way. They take a criticism to heart. They can’t handle someone trashing their team even if it’s true. They also didn’t grow up during the previous decade of awful Layden/Isiah/Mills (first stint) basketball.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

This is what Dejounte was traded for

Hawks receive:
• Dejounte Murray
• Jock Landale

Spurs receive:

• Danilo Gallinari
• 2023 first-round pick (via Charlotte from New York, protected)
• 2025 first-round pick
• 2026 pick swap
• 2027 first-round pick

How would you rate Donovan compared to Dejonte?

If Randle and RJ are starting, how would you organize the offense or change it from Thibs has done last 2 years to maximize the starting 5?
Who would you try to retain if at all possible while getting Mitchell to make the offense the best for Brunson/Mitchell, if not the defense as well? Meaning - Fournier, IQ and Grimes - retaining rotational shooting all costs? Even if it's means losing Obi and Cam and Rose?

I think shooting is the super skill here. You can never have too much of it. So I would prioritize Grimes and IQ over Rose and Cam. Fournier and Obi bring value as well, but I think Fournier will be gone for salary reasons alone in a Mitchell deal.

Who would you move Randle for in a trade to make the lineup work better?
If not Randle, who would you move RJ for? Pre and post extension - before he's a lower $ contract, so who is good at that price, and after, he's paid more, but might be easier to find that proficient volume 3&D player making 25 million

Ex:
Have Randle set the screen, get the ball and then make passes from there?
Play Randle more at the 5, saying f*ck you Mitch?
Etc

If you aren't going to play Randle at the 5 (we won't) then he has to go. Who he goes for really isn't relevant, though if I had my choice, we'd be able to convert him into a wing.

This question is hard to answer without knowing who went out in the Mitchell trade though. Trading Obi vs IQ or Grimes changes the calculus a bit.

This is why I’m ok with Obi going out in the trade. He’s a nice player as an energy big and pressuring the defense by getting out in the break. In half court play that comes more into focus for playoffs he’s not nearly as good because he can’t shoot. I don’t have faith in him becoming a good shooter because his form and shooting motion needs a complete rebuild- at least it’s better than DSJ

The NBA Champion Warriors starting PF is a poor shooter. But what he does well lets the team be a team while having an overwhelmingly positive impact.

Obi performed with poise against the ECF buzz saw Hawks that exposed and neutered "good shooter" Randle. He finished a +4. What Obi brings to the team is overwhelmingly positive despite how you feel. There's this team concept that some of you cannot grasp.

Obi's per 36 in the playoffs, as always, checked out. He was a net positive, as usual. His % were good. Thibs should have played him more. Y'all give Obi the Blazers Jermaine O'neal treatment squarely because he's buried behind vets. Just give the guy a freaking chance.:banghead:

Mitchell is better, but the Knicks stayed out of the Murray sweepstakes because it got too expensive.

One unprotected pick better? I’m trying to gauge the actual market versus Ainge‘s market

I would say Donovan is 2 assets better, because of his talent as well as his contract.

Though, I do think the Hawks overpaid
