Isn't the height necessarily for me, but the combination of height and a lack of NBA strength training. Sure, he is still filling into his body, but he is more vulnerable imo. I hope I am wrong and we get to see something special.

I still would take him at 1, but I realize it is a high risk high reward scenario.

As of now I'm taking Scoot, tbh. Might change my mind but guys who are 7-4 and above are never durable.

Feels inevitable that he will do a serious injury with his size.

Gobert has been relatively healthy.

Wemby has at least a couple of inches on Gobert, this was taken almost 2 years ago:

Maybe an inch taller. I know the head looks higher but I think that's more hair than anything. Their shoulders and knees are very close to the same height with a slight advantage to Wembamayama

I think Scoot takes over the #1 soon. He's going to put up some eye-popping stats this season.

Unless they’re standing on a slope I don’t see how where they’re standing matters when comparing their heights.

I mean, the g-league isn't exactly a hotbed of elite defense - last season guys who couldn't get minutes for an NBA team (Nik stauskus, matt ryan, isaiah thomas, etc) put up insane numbers so it wouldn't be surprising.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

because the player standing closer to the camera looks taller than the one standing farther

also, again, that pic was taken when Vic was 16.

This class has some really good bigs.

Wemby, Lively, Ware, Bona, Holmes, Iwuchukwu, Nnaji. All 7 of them could go in the 1st round. Maybe even Okeke.

My top 10 at the moment:
Victor Wembenyama
Amen Thompson
Scoot Henderson
GG Jackson
Cam Whitmore
Anthony Black
Nick Smith
Ausur Thompson
Jarace Walker
Dereck Lively
The rest of the lottery would probably be Baba Miller, Whitehead, Ware, George

You can say that about college as well. We have also seen players who haven't put up great numbers in the G-League but played solid NBA minutes, and players who have played well in G-League and moved on to play well in the NBA. Of course you can't just look at G-League numbers and expect it to fully translate to the NBA but it's not meaningless either, and the same caveat also applies for most of his peers in the draft.

Good lord:

He's gotta be top 5.

6'9" with this type of skill set, coordination, footwork, shot making ability, youngest player in the draft class.

This class is nuts. Scoot/Victor/GG/Thompsons/Smith/Whitehead and more.

crazy because Cam Whitmore is my favorite in this class. Like, he has a chance to end up #2 for me.

I am extremely biased and partial for Whitmore so I am right there with you. Also like Dariq mostly because of his mentality and approach. This is probably a deeper and better class than 2021 imo.

wow. a lot of love for scoot. how tall is he? i've heard anything from 6'2" to 6'4". if 6'2", i'm not buying. if 6'4" and he can legitimately play lead guard, sure, count me in.

whitmore will be the best player in the class.

I think he's 6'1" in sneakers. There's a photo of him standing next to 6'4" Anthony Edwards (Scoot was 16 y/o) and he's clearly close to 4" shorter. That said, he's 100% capable of playing lead guard due to his elite handle, BBIQ and athleticism. I personally think he's right there with the best PG prospects we've seen alongside guys like Rose, Kyrie, Trae and Ja. I don't think people realize how impressive it is that he was dominating much older guys at just 17 y/o. This next season he might prove to be so good that he might need to shut it down early. I admit I was a little skeptical due to his size and shooting but the more I dug into him it's clear as day he's just different. Like the greats are just different. What swayed me was his ability to blow by pretty much every defender whether they had a good reputation as a defender or not. And I saw him hustle and try on defense which is more than I can say for so many PGs in the league. We likely won't get any official measurements as he'll skip those at the combine but if there's any indication he's grown or I'm wrong and he's close to 6'3" he could go #1.

He did not dominate in the G League. :nonono:

Scoot seems a bit overrated at this point imo.. He plays like a really small SF.. fast but not overly quick and doesn't have a difference-making handle or passing ability.. his jumpshot is picture perfect though. He reminds me alot of Donovan Mitchell but that archetype isnt always successful

just really hard for a short dude to be a great nba player. you look at the top 10 players in the league, Steph is the only "short" guy on the list and we know what a unicorn he is. and even he is 6'3+. if scoot is only 6'1" - there is just so much to overcome in order for him to become a superstar. you take a guy like that top 3 you are praying a million things go right in order to justify his draft slot.

just not sure the risk/reward is on your side if you draft a dude that short that early.
