Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 9
Draft Walker Kessler, Drop Miles Bridges.
“As we worked our way towards being No. 1 in the country, and through the month of January and early February, Walker was the most dominant player in college basketball,” said Pearl. “He was on the floor with the best player (Jabari Smith), but the most dominant player was actually Walker, because of the way he protected the rim.”
Walker Kessler, 20, had the 2nd highest KenPom Game MVP's with 17 behind 21 year old Sophomore Keegan Murray who had 22 Game MVP's.
Kessler accomplished this feat despite only playing 25 minutes per game and on a team that had the No. 3 overall pick Jabari Smith.
His 19.05 BLK% is the highest ever recorded on basketballreference.com The second highest was 18.79 BLK% belonging to Hassan Whiteside.
But wait there's more!
Walker Kessler had two triple-doubles this year:
16-point, 11-block, 10-rebound performance against Tari Eason.
12-point, 12-block, 11-rebound performance against Texas A&M.
"If there's a better defender, shot blocker or rim protector in the country, I haven't seen him," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said.
"Now, the other thing that I don't think anybody was really aware of is that I would every now and then remind Walker to 'stop playing like a big 7-foot-1 slow white guy because you're not.' He's athletic, he's explosive, he's fast, and he knows it. But every now and then when you're 7-foot-1... when you're carrying 260 around, every now and then you want to play like all of the other 7-foot-1, 260 guys. Except he's not."
Kessler is 7-foot-1 and 255 pounds. He has a 7-6 wingspan, 9-foot-5 standing reach and blocked more shots by himself than all but 13 Division I teams.

Get'em Ty.
The Franz Wagner 'underrated as ****, will prove everyone wrong' award goes this year to the real best defender in the draft.
Taking Jeremy Sochan at 15, thank you very much.

Well, then to be fair to Bruce Pearl... Sochan didn't actually play so that's why he didn't see him.

My pick is up for grabs. Looking for a decent player in return, I've had a couple teams that have already reached out.

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 9
RO show is all for the winning this year, I had a well set plan with my 3 2nd rounders, but I couldn't pass on Sochan.
That's just straight up robbery, I didn't think there would be a chance in this universe he was falling past 9. Would have been my 2nd choice after Eason at 7 if he wasn't on the board.
So I needed to get another pick to keep my plan on track.
With the 17th pick, ROballer selects the starting PG of the San Antonio Spurs
Tre Jones
Expecting a solid fantasy season from the pup, he was solid as they were every chance he got as a starter last year.
https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/tre-jones-stats-as-a-starter
Very efficient, doesn't turn the ball over, high assists and decent steals and rebounds. I couldn't ask for anything more out of my PG's, I don't value scoring at all with my punting strategies.
