It's this kind of pointless arguing that gets us to Thread #7

Nice long list. Kind of ignores possible scenarios where teams on the bubble of having enough to offer make 3 ways trades to have enough stuff.

Like Miami.

I mean, you can just feel it. Miami will work something out with OKC to get enough picks, land DMitch.
It's inevitable.

How exactly is that going to happen?

F*ck if I know. Ask Riley. He seems to manage to do stuff like this every so often. :D

Normally when he has assets to make it happen lol but I don’t see it here

Herro, Robinson, Heat 2024, 2027, OKC 202X*

*Heat trade Max Strus to OKC for a 1st? :D

Miami sure has traded a bunch of firsts away; not easy

People talk about Riley can sneak in but Ainge wants unprotected picks and Riley can only trade two of Miami picks max. I don't know through what magic Riley can turn hernia and his other players not named bam or butler into 7-8 picks

Clearly Westbrook's name is involved in 3 team trade talks between NY-Utah-Lakers.

Do the Lakers make a move without knowing what happened to Kyrie?

Besides that, I can totally see NYK arranging a Randle/Rose/Cam for Russ and 2027 1st trade, looking to incorporate it into a 3way with the Jazz...

But I can see Ainge pushing back on that, telling Leon - I dont need you to bring the Lakers into this, I can get a 2027 1st from the Lakers for swapping Conley and Boggy for Westbrook, find someone else.

Theres so many moving parts here.

Where is Westbrook going? To Knicks to be cut?
If it's the Jazz, I think they want more than 1 extra pick from the Lakers to pay 40 million for nothing
To say nothing of if they need to move Conley to make it happen

Maybe the Jazz. Overall it would cut there salary. I think the Lakers would def take Conley.

If I'm the Jazz, I want a pick for taking on the corpse of Westbrook and then I want another pick for Conley, since I could have flipped him at the deadline for a pick in a separate deal.

So, in this scenario the Knick hold on to who? Since it seems Randle is the basis of the Jazz trade. Or is this in addition?

If it's in addition, It's Randle so the Knicks can hold onto 2029? Might be worth that.
I don't see the Knicks getting a pick.

The Jazz are going to need to take some contracts back anyway if they move Mitchell and Conley. An expiring is more ideal then someone like Fournier. They want to tank so if they can package players it may better similiar to how Ainge packaged Pierce and KG. They also get compensated with the picks from the Lakers.

It may also depend if Lakers are willing to give up more then 1 pick.

The most valuable asset is Utahs first next year. I think they just want to be as bad as possible to get a top 5 pick and getting and cutting Westbrook sets them up for it.

A few things On the Donovan needs to request a trade storyline, KD requested and has gone nowhere, second other players have requested and demanded teams and teams still got a huge haul in return, plus we have no clue what’s going on behind the scenes, Mitchell is CAA, they are already completely aware of what he wants, BUT what we don’t know for sure is how strong a desire mitchell has to go to the Knicks, maybe he does want Miami. A lot of assumptions

Price of the brick just went up, he's got 3 years left on his deal, any team with assets can trade for him.

You'll be saying nothing has changed if the Raptors, who have all their picks and sneak in to trade for him. Unlike us with our young players, they made sure to feature Gary Trent, whose stock rose dramatically around the league and has some eye popping stats if you take a deep look at them.
