It doesn’t take a genius to know the type of attempt needed in such situation, but I’ll give you he doing everything at that point and being gassed, something that it was pretty clear. However, it was not a regular season game where you come back the next game. It was win or go home, so going hard inside one more time was the way to go regardless. Also Strus was coming center court behind him, so if he was so tired there were plenty of time to pass it to Strus.
And as far as your other point, you can be a hero with any type of shot going in, but you will be blamed for not making the wrong shot.
Again, you don’t know more than Jimmy or anyone in the organization. They liked the shot; is what it is
I never claimed to no more than Jimmy, but it was a low IQ shot. It is what it is.
I didnt like the shot, but looking back at it a few times.. that shot was literally emptying the tank, the last thing we had left to beat Boston. Kind of like what Jimmy did in Game 5 against the Lakers in the Finals. We had nothing left after. Jimmy knew the situation, the injuries, the fact that he was literally carrying the team on his shoulders. If that shot wasnt going to win it, nothing else would have won the series. Boston is clearly better, built better, more athletic, more skilled.
We had Gabe vincent, strus and caleb playing important minutes for us in the post season…
our second best player against the celtics was not Lowry, not Herro, not Duncan Robinson… not even Bam… it was 37 year old PJ Tucker… we had no business being in that series, the only reason we are there is there is because of Butler, our coaching staff, attitude and the development of players that we didnt even draft….
