If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

if you don’t want to count the Lakers bubble title, it’s only fair that you shouldn’t count the lock out shortened ‘99 season for the Spurs.. the bubble season at least had 72 games per team , & the playoffs were all best of 7 series.. whereas the 99 season only had 50 games for the regular season and the first round was only a best of 5..
which will give the lakers a 5-4 lead over the spurs. Lakers also had 2 back to back chips, that the Spurs never did even with pretty much the same core..
Plus, 8 finals appearances for the lakers over 5 for the spurs. Don’t forget Magic’s last finals appearance was in 91.

Sorry but the bubble and the lockout are two completely different things. You can't compare completely ending the NBA season only to have some Disney camp playoffs.
Also the spurs made 6 finals, not 5. The spurs won more games in total over this time frame (225 regular season games). Spurs made the playoffs 29 times vs 24 for the lakers. Spurs lost in the conference finals 5 times vs the lakers 1. Lost in the simi finals 9 times vs 7.
You can certainly choose the lakers here based on the extra title and a few more finals, but the spurs have certainly had more success in terms of simply winning games and being competitive more consistently.
Jfh20 wrote:seriously we always debate whos goat but this one is more interesting and different... i was thinking this today... in international football, brazil has dominated football and won the most world cups in history... but in the nba, its more complicated to measure this feat cuz the nba only had 8 teams in the past so i think you'd have to measure it from 1990 to 2022....who is the goat franchise?? gime your top 5, in order with 1 being the greatest.
5-miami heat - under wade, the heat managed to win 3x title in the modern era.
4-San Antonio Spurs - under duncan the spurs dominated the modern era and have been one of the most successfull franchises in the nba.
3- Golden State warriors - the curry era has been nice, and made its mark on the league. i put them at #3.
2- L.A lakers - the lakeshow with kobe has been gets the spot at #2. there the closest to the bulls.
1- Chicago Bulls - Despite being completely irrelevant lately, there my goat franchise and has the most impressive feat the nba has seen. Jordan and the Bulls are da goats.
i wish i could put lebrons cavs here, but he only managed to win 1 title with a superteam... oh well
You can argue since late 80s as wellAussieRules wrote:Best since 1990 you say? Correct answer here is: The Lakers.

thats about the time my heat came into the league... thats why.
Pythagoras wrote:Using 90 as the cutoff, my list would be
1 Lakers
2 Spurs
3 Bulls
4 Heat
5 Cavs
Suns, Mavs, and Celtics all get honorable mentions.
The Bulls have been fairly irrelevant outside of the Jordan years, but the Jordan years were so dominant that they get a spot.
The Suns had some really good runs in the 90s and 2000s, but they were never able to break through and win.
The Mavs have had Dirk and Luka, and would be pretty close to cracking the list.
A lot of people only associate the Cavs success with only Lebron, but they actually had some really good teams in the 90s.

How do Warriors with 4 chips & 6 finals appearances not even make honorable mention?
