Depends on protection.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

That's an insane price for those two. I really hope the Lakers don't do that deal. The 2027 and 2029 picks could be high lottery picks the way we're going right now.

Hield doesn't worth a 1RP.... Turner maybe yes but with protection because injury.

If LAL is so desperate, I can trade THJ and Maxi for WB + picks.

That would be better than Hield + Turner, haha. You're only getting 1 pick out of us for that though. :P

No way they are worth that in a vacuum. But it feels like the last dance for this lakers team and they are great fits so wouldnt surprise me if it gets done

Hmmm yeah I'd give Indiana 2 first rounders for Turner and Hield if they take on Bertans, Powell and Kleber.

C - Mcgee / Turner
PF - Wood / DFS
SF - Hield / Bullock
SG - THJ / Green / Hardy
PG - Doncic / Dinwiddie

Deep team.

Just no reason to waste another 4 years before we can trade for a 2 for luka. Specially for thj 2.0 and an injury prone turner

This is one of the worst defensive S5 in the NBA history

Hield has 0 value and Turner is injury prone, we are not in the right situation for take risks. I'll pass.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly when I saw that.
Plus, Hield and THJ in the SL in any scenario would be a nightmare for us.

But, the same roster with a different rotation might be ok and deep if Turner could stay healthy.
And I actually think the Mavs have put themselves in a situation where they almost have to take on more risk if they want to improve.

Luka/Dinwiddie/Hardy
THJ/Hield/Frank
DFS/Green/Pinson
Wood/Bullock
Turner/McGee

We'd have to make another move for a big though if we're subtracting three 6'10+ guys from a roster already lacking bigs, and only bringing back one in the deal.

Its not that i don`t like them but it just doesn`t make sense right now.
If we haven`t signed McGee i would be open for something like THJ + Filler + 1st Rounder for Hield and Turner, so
we would have the T-MLE for a third ball handler not named Hardy or Dorsey.

Turner is UFA 2023 and Hield is UFA 2024. You absolutely do not lose out on anything because the Mavs' contracts are aligned to only have cap space in 2025 anyway. Both are designed to be out by then anyway. I say go for it.

You get a lot of talent at shooting threes with Bud and you add that essential true center backup behind McGee who I would give the starting position based on his having a better defensive game. Bottom line we obtain depth that we can use as trade pieces later if they fail to produce. Would you be able to pass them off to another team if they did well and not be tempted to keep them? That is a tough question with this team. We seem to fall in love with everyone as evidenced by the attempt to retain Brunson despite having a replacement that would be a far better fit next to Luka. Din is 6'5" so size is a fit at SG with Luka as a big PG. His prior years stats showed he could get 7 assists per game and score 20 PPG. His 2nd year back from injury is a good bet to be better than what he did last season. That being said we are going to have a great season so we need to figure out how to insure that we do not see things go sideways on us if a major injury derails things.

Pacers will not take our trash for these 2 anyway but I understand we are all bored with nothing better to do.
