Re: Offseason Plan
I liked Posey -- a tough, defensive-minded player. He has 2 rings as a player & a 3d as an assistant coach for Cleveland in 2016.

Re: Offseason Plan
I'd still prefer for Wes Jr to hire as assistant coach with former NBA HC experience. Posey might be sharp, but the weight of our staff's collective resumes still feels light -- and Wes is still learning on the job.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

I like that they are bringing some new people in. It’s good for the NBA as a whole. Based on posey’s wiki, I don’t know what Posey has been up to for the last 2-3 years…was he coaching somewhere?

Re: Offseason Plan
I liked James Posey as a player. Savvy vet who played defense and had more cunning to his game than raw athleticism. Embraced and maximized his roleplayer status. Seems like a good addition to the crew.

Love Posey. Love guys like Posey joining our team. I want more names like that associated with us. I would have signed Pippen’s kid just to have Pippen around a couple practices. Sign coach Iggy the day he retires.

If we make some big move that uses a lot of our players two guys I like and wanna see if there is anything there are Reggie Perry and Moses Wright. Bit young PF, who are probably better than Todd and have some potential .

Wait wait wait wait wait... did the Zards just cave and give Beal the max? Were there even any other bidders?

You obviously didnt see the image in the mirror. We had to outbid that team.

Not "cave," Zonk -- Ted gave himself & us the honor of retaining Bradley at the theoretical maximum possible salary. & this was done to insure that he play at the theoretically maximal level of productivity.
Had the Wizards offered a lesser sum, a shadow might have begun to form within Beal's consciousness, an unease, a sense of doubt, a confidence-sapping cloud of thoughts that, in sum, might well render him incapable of playing up to the value of whatever contract did wind up to be his.
Thus, as in so many other areas of life, has the new truth of our time revealed itself: the more you pay for something the better it is.
But, not only is that "something" better in itself. In fact, what you buy at top dollar is virtually certain to upgrade everything around it as well. Just as high-end shoelaces are known to improve any pair of shoes into which they are laced, so will the enormous contract Bradley Beal received improve every single player around him -- & therefore have the very same effect on the team as a whole.
It is being possessed of this wisdom which truly distinguishes Ted Leonsis as a leader in our time. Indeed, by way of an anti-entropic feedback loop, his decision to pay Bradley Beal the absolute maximum sum of money possible actually increases Leonsis' own intelligence. & -- what is even better -- in waves of sympathetic energy -- it even reaches to our outer circles of fandom enlightening our trivial minds & brightening our boring days.
It is to this end, it is for us, that Ted Leonsis is willing to give so very much to Brad. Anyone should be able to see this. & it's always been Ted's plan. Just as with the urinal cakes, in this case too Ted is making moves to improve the quality of what he p#sses on.

Re: Offseason Plan
Thanks for the promotion, doc.
While checking out the HOF thread, I re-read your post about Ted's 10-point plan, in which I noticed that he advised the reader never to trust the "expert" who says you are "one player away."
Believe me, Ted -- I don't:
You know what they say: you made your bed, now sleep in it.
If it happens to be a bed of nails, hey, don't blame me!
