Post#1 » by T-Cat » Wed Jul 27, 2022 3:10 am

Around the 39:00 they talk about hiring a new strength and conditioning coach for the team!

Hopefully this news brings our consent injuries among players to a halt! :D

I feel like we had decent ones before whoever was here the last few years. I know part of injury is random but something wasn't being done right.

The previous one was the guy behind rehabbing Grant Hill. They were hired in 2002 and somehow stayed with the team until Weltman took over and canned them.

Hopefully he has good skills in injury-prevention management. Lower body work is the most important training role Orlando needs for at least 6 Magicians with histories in leg/feet injuries injuries: Okeke, Isaac, Suggs, Fultz, Bamba and Bol.

do S&C coaches normally make a lot of news when hired? is this really a "secret" hiring?

Is “secret” a better term for “stalker”?

the other guy being credited for "Grant Hill's Rehab" isn't exactly a glowing resume item

I wouldn’t call it a secret. The Magic typically don’t announce their athletic/training staff until you see the training camp roster release.

Look, when you lead the NBA for 2 consecutive seasons in man games lost due to injury/COVID, and you’ve had rehab setbacks to guys like Aminu and Isaac, there’s going to be some shuffling.

He used to work with 76ers right? Doesn't his time overlap with Fultz shoulder drama and media frenzy with wrong diagnoses, Ben Simmons missing rookie year, Embiid missing esencially first 3 seasons , Jah Okafor injuries?

Simmons broke his foot in pre-season camp. Embiid came into the league with foot issues. This guy isnt a surgeon, dont see how you can lay both of those things on him.

I just find it odd that one of most injuried teams in nba hires guy who worked for probably only team with even worst medical issues, that's all.
