Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I'm telling you man, we run it back with our top 8 rotation players from last year's finals run + brogdon + gallo. I like our chances to win it all!

I liked the article but one thing it mentioned was wrong in my opinion. It said Gallo was not a good passer. I disagree. Gallo makes some great passes. He finds guys for open layups and dunks often when posting up inside.

Good signing IMO:

He scores on Gobert pretty effortlessly here and finishes through contact when the help gets there.

He could get that easy, at least in the reg season. Minutes of Horf and Tatum need to be managed. Plus there's no clear answer yet for that 3rd big spot, which Gallo can transition into part-time, ala-Bjelica.

Bjelica is a great comp for minutes, numbers and role on the floor. Eatch some highlights of him last year in Golden State and you're gonna see exactly how Gallo would be deployed.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Cs love to station their bigs outside the paint on offense and use them for handoffs and post-passing. Gallo, esp with his threat as a shooter, can easily be that off the bench. Another comp is Olynyk, though he's taller. They can pop or slip off screens or put the ball on the floor on fake handoffs.

Defensively, try to put him away from the onball action. Easier to do with above average switchable defenders around him and one of the best defensive coaches on our team.

Bjelica also showed in the finals that 6'10ish dudes, even if they don't slide very well laterally, as long as they are willing to try, they can hold up fine in a switch heavy scheme. It's a problem against speedsters like Morant or Fox that are just going to blow by without needing a screen but otherwise it's much harder to attack than it looks. The moment the other team's ballhandler calls a screen you can get Gallo out of the matchup and getting by a 6'10 guy that's trying on defense without a screen is not that easy if you can't just blow right by them. Not a lot of speedsters like that in the East especially on the top teams.

I'm not saying to expect fireworks on that end but I don't think we should automatically assume he'll get exploited defensively in the playoffs. Small sample size alert aside, Bjelica had a 103 defensive rating in the finals and 109 in the playoffs overall. Which suggests that there are some series at least where Gallo can be merely below average defensively instead of so-bad-that-entire-defense-collapses. Considering his offensive repertoire, below average defense will still make him a pretty useful player.

Agreed, I look at like who’s worse, Gallo on D or the other team’s bench big on O. Prob the second most of the time.
