This is technically our 16th NBA contract. Someone will have to be waived or traded.

Hilarious that after trading for Rudy, we sign Donovan Mitchell's best friend

I though we already filled the roster ? How can we sign Paschall when we already have 15 man roster filled up ?

Technically you can have up to 20 (including two-ways) until days before the regular season

I'd say a 1-for-0

As a fantasy hoop player I remember when Paschall was averaging about 18-8 with good percents.

A two way seems unlikely, (seriously, no one will give the guy a minimum and a roster spot?) What seems more likely is we dump Rivers whose contract is only 650k guaranteed, and keep Paschall. He fits better with our roster needs and has more upside. Time will tell.

Probably, but for who? Naz doesn’t make sense with the EP signing. Prince maybe? But I don’t see EP getting a lot of minutes. Maybe Ant splits his time at SG and SF and Nowell and Forbes get more SG minutes? I doubt we move either of the rookies. Not sure what this move could be.

Just bring everyone to camp and cut / trade the guy who is the most expendable at the end of camp. Hopefully, everyone stays healthy to give everyone a fair shot.

AJ Lawson (22) - two way
Eric Paschal (25) - two way

I also wanted to point out that one major reason the Wolves lost in the playoffs to Memphis was because they were one of the youngest and least experienced teams, cracking in several fourth quarters. Tim Connelly used the off-season to reverse MIN’s youth-based system to focus on adding players in their prime, older than their core.

EDIT: It was revealed later Paschall took a two-way. That seems like a steal!

I think Reid gets traded for pick(s). There doesn't seem to be any steam behind him getting an extension. Rudy/KAT can play the vast majority of minutes at the 5. With only four total picks over the next five years, TC can't let Naz just walk next summer if he can get picks. It was a mistake to not try and get at least a distant second for Okogie.

Think about the depth chart if we do this. Say KAT gets the flu. Now KA starts at PF and Rudy at C. But Rudy sits 15 minutes a game and without Naz who plays C? You want Knight getting high leverage minutes? What if Rudy is in foul trouble. Or worse, Rudy is out and KAT is at C with foul trouble? You don’t sign a SF/PF to trade away your C depth. Maybe if Rivers is also on the way out and we sign Boogie. I agree 100% about JO and I think we might end up moving Spagnolo before he ever comes over to recover some picks. The better he does in Europe and next years summer league the more value those rights will have.

No team has great options in worst-case scenarios.

Sure, that could happen, but it's just a likely that Towns and Rudy stay healthy. Looking back at their careers, it's more likely that Towns misses time than Rudy and Naz isn't the back-up PF. Maybe there isn't a market for Naz, but if I could get a couple seconds to fill in the draft gaps over the next years I would do it. It's not that hard to find a back-up big. Monroe did fine in a pinch last year. Cousins is still available. Heck Knight averaged 18 and 11 per 36 minutes last year. With Rudy and KAT, I don't think Naz is high priority. If a team calls and asks about him, I hope TC listens.
