Looks like (at long last) the dam is beginning to break or to mix metaphors
there are too many holes in the dike to have enough fingers to stick in.

This is encouraging and could be fun to watch.

After retreating into the crowd, Ponder grabbed a sturdier pole colored in red, white, and blue stripes. He used it to assault two other officers, hitting one of them in the left shoulder, before police detained and handcuffed him.

Dems might against all odds pull off the upset by making gains after the mid terms.

The trump news is lining up to hit hard by November, skinny BBB looks like it's going to pass, and student loans will be partially wiped away at the 11th hour.

If that happens, I think the GOP as a whole moves to reject Trump in favor of Desantis.

Also the Republicans *could* have arranged for a soft landing of the overturning of Roe v Wade but couldn't help but behead the hostage publicly, enraging pro-choice advocates even more than necessary. This will probably have bad consequences for establishment dems as well as the GOP but on net it's hard to imagine the GOP not suffering a significant loss in votes these midterms because of their mishandling of the whole sordid situation

Pregnancy deaths are bad in the US, like worst in the high income world bad, and getting worse. Forced birth laws of course will just make it worse.

658 in 2018, 754 in 2019, 861 in 2020. That's an alarming increase in per 1000 deaths rates.

If passed, it would be the largest investment in renewable energy in the history of the United States.

WASHINGTON — The $369 billion climate and tax package forged in a surprise deal by Senate Democrats would be the most ambitious action ever taken by the United States to try to stop the planet from catastrophically overheating.

The agreement, which Senate Democrats announced late Wednesday and hope to pass as early as next week, shocked even some who had been involved in the sputtering negotiations over climate legislation during the past year. The announcement of a deal, after many activists had given up hope, almost instantly reset the role of the United States in the global effort to fight climate change.

And for those with the "both sides" message:

But I realize that we are operating in an environment where white male supremacy is so entrenched that the press doesn’t want to treat the Republican Party’s agenda of sorting the “right” human beings from the “wrong” ones as maybe presenting a “messaging problem.”

This is because the press has chosen to accommodate the Republican Party in a very specific way:

1) It normalizes the Republican agenda.
2) It normalizes framing the responsibility for stopping that agenda as ultimately being on Democrats.

Think about it: white supremacy is not allowed to be viewed as a “messaging problem.” Even when it’s a threat to democracy. Because if it’s a “messaging problem”, to Republicans, that sounds like you’re telling them that’s a problem they have to solve.

I genuinely wonder what the press is supposed to do about it. It used to be, you exposed the truth that some politician was lying Nazi scum and he would never win an election again. The press didn't have to editorialize at all - we were smart enough to figure it out ourselves. Now that's no longer true.

Too me it is worse than that - it is now the Democrats problem for poor messaging on issue(s) that should be obvious - and that boomerangs back to a "both sides" argument.

Climate change is a perfect example. One side can't get their agenda through (although it looks like that just changed) and the other side is actively pushing the opposition direction... and yet...

Dems are a political party. They don't face the same limits journalists do. They are as well financed as the gop. Incompetence is the only explanation.
