They legit got publicly shamed/ridiculed into dropping a contract clause lol. Can't say that I've ever seen that before.

Artificial turf of course
Back in 95 I played a high school baseball game at the Metrodome. Funny even as a teenager from a little ass town my first impression was 'this place is kind of a dump'. I usually get a little side eye when teams claim to 'need' a new stadium/arena but that one needed to go.

Agreed. I got to see a couple of Twins games and a Vikings pre-season game there, plus I got a office side tour that came out on the right field press box. Pretty stark - a lot of concrete - everywhere

Watching baseball games in the Metrodome made my ears hurt. I assume the sound was worse for football games.

I'm not going to do more research into an arbitrary example, but if you feel like proving those stats wrong go ahead.

"Because other cities might have a worse crime problem, it means Chicago doesn't have a crime problem".

And murder isn't the only crime. The Magnificent Mile has seen a rash of burglaries, robberies, and smash-and-grabs.

Look, to be clear, Chicago is a whore.

I know that's a quote from someone, but Google failed me.

What I heard is that Murray had already been doing it, so it was rather pointless. Unless the point was casting aspersions on the QB they just signed to a big contract, which would be stupid.

Kyler is a problem, how big of a problem I am not sure, but that dude quit in games last year. It tooks some cajones to put that clause in to a QB contract probably for the first time in history. I will blindly speculate Kyler considers playing Madden film study.

Yeah, I saw him quit as well. I'm just not nearly as high on him as some, I don't even have him top 10 I think.

Rodgers
Mahomes
Allen
Brady
Burrow
Herbert
Stafford
Wilson
Jackson

For sure above him, then you have guys I consider same tier like Cousins, Prescott, Carr, Mac Jones, etc.

I don't know, just don't see him being the guy you win a SB with.

I was a huge fan of his coming out of college and I still think if you were thinking in terms of who do you want for the next 10 years he is way up there. But the way I saw him quit in multiple games really makes me think he isn't a guy that is ever going to carry a team in the NFL.

Except your speculation was refuted by both sides. Murray had been spending more than the time mentioned in the contract doing his "homework."

There was multiple NFL reporters talking about the contract stipulation when it first broke and almost all of them heard that Murray had issues with the film room. It was also said that originally the stipulation was supposed to be for something like 20hrs a week at the team facility and then it eventually got negotiated down to the 4hrs at his house. If true it's pretty easy to see why once made public, both sides would want to move on quickly since they both look bad. But there has always been rumors about his film prep even going back to college when his dad talked about on the radio.

This isn't the first incident regarding Murray and his character. He was described as a self-centered, immature finger pointer back in February. And coupled with this latest incident, it won't go over well with vets that put in 20 times the effort at positions less demanding than his. It's just a bad look all around for Murray and defending the guy is ridiculous at this point. And making him the second highest paid QB was a huge blunder to say the least. Giving the petulant child 230 million candy bars to behave (and he still whines about something) won't end well

Hell with that. Anything less then a year and they need to appeal it and send it strait to Goodells desk.

Really I gotta believe the other owners are gonna force at least that. They gotta be pissed at the Browns for breaking the market on Watson

That's horrible. The arbitrator is a clown, hopefully the NFL ignores the ruling

Obviously Kylers side would refute it. And after 'public backlash' are you surprised the team that felt it was necessary to include it in his contract, backed out and then tried to cover their newly extended star QB in the media. You don't extend a guy to that kind of deal and there isn't an underlying issue.

I think they just wanted this over, exposes too much of the underbelly of the NFL. So 6 games was probably enough that it was 'taken seriously' and not so much that he would appeal and keep this in the news any longer.

So much for justice.
