Post#1 » by Johnny Bball » Wed Aug 3, 2022 7:13 pm

https://uproxx.com/dimemag/slamball-coming-back-details/

There have been plenty of calls over the years for SlamBall to come back in some form or fashion, and in a recent interview with TMZ, SlamBall founder Mason Gordon revealed that it will make its return in the summer of 2023.

Sure there have... sure...

I actually enjoyed Slamball. Might do better ratings than the WNBA lol.

Would be good to do a poll to see if people actually care.

The original was so scripted; it was much more reality show than sports league. I'll never forget the totally real halftime speech where the coach just drew a heart on the whiteboard and asked his team "Do you know what this is?"

A Spike TV original if I'm not mistaken.

I could never get into it because i was always expecting an ankle to snap, and I just can't watch that.

Oh my... this game would be possible if it was played on grass. It's just ridiculous otherwise lol.

I never have heard of this. Interesting at the very least.

Whatever that wrestling/Rugby/Basketball thing is... Wow I would have been really good at that... Small side note, my wife was a good basketball player and she quite in HS because it was too violent. I ignored it lol... Then I played in a monday night league that was coed and we had this D 2 woman player that played with us... never ever have I taken that many elbows to the throat or shots to my nuts than I did from her, and I think she wanted contact back from all of us as she was the only female but everyone felt timid about it. She was a legit baller too but nothing but violent lol.

Slamball screams Baron Davis on the Hornets and TMac on the Magic. Good stuff and very nostalgic.

HS girls' basketball is fueled by spite. Stephen King wrote a villain who didn't like sports but would go watch the local high school girls' hoop because he did like to see violence and hatred.

An insane, idiotic perversion of the game. This kind of dilly-dallying is a threat to basketball, arguably a threat to all of America.

I got so much nostalgia from that top 10 video. Good times.

Loved Slamball as a kid, wonder how I'd feel as an adult.
Inadequate perception I reckon it's from the Valium

Third time is a charm? I remember the first 2 times slamball was tried (and ultimately failed).

I'm surprised the league had survived with no major spinal or neck injuries with the mid-air collisions.
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

Slam ball is dope I'm glad it's back! My brother, friends and I used to try to replicate it and play in our backyard wheeling the net over to the trampoline and playing full contact. Surprised we didn't kill each other but it was fun lol.
