Vlad has an OPS of about 1.100 over his past 18 games, which you wouldn't guess given the concern about Vlad's hitting.

**** your asterisk.

Becoming glad we didn't trade for Mahle.

Would be nice if we didn't waste Garcia and Bass yesterday though lol. Need to keep this close.

Probably shouldn't have done that when he knew he had Berrios pitching today, yeah.

Bass has more innings pitched than any of our relievers, tabby. New=\=“fresh”.

We should really consider extending Chapman after this season is over past 2023.

Well, that was the Groshans calculation. Young, potential, very cheap.
But he was deemed incapable. I kind of agree. So, you hope for Orelvis or something else or yeah, you’re right.

Depends on length. Chapman is a very solid player, but he's also the sort that could turn into a pumpkin if his bat-speed slows much. A three or four-year extension after this year? Sure. If he wants more than that, though, the back half is likely to be ugly.

**** your asterisk.

He's already 29 so I wouldn't have much interest in him beyond 2025/2026. But that's really about as long as they need him for during Vlad's prime anyway.

Danny Jansen has really fallen off a cliff. I’d rather have Moreno playing right now

Question then is whether he extends. I probably would in his position; he's the sort of player who could get kneecapped a little in FA, so locking in $60m/3 from 2024-2026 wouldn't be bad. But if he wants to go for a big deal, we should probably take the pick after 2023 and walk away.
