The other need was more of a desire to do a consolidation trade, to give Connelly the roster spots to do what he does well - identify undervalued/young talent, and put them on the roster.

Connelly has done better than I could have even dreamed. Yes, he overpaid with draft picks, but Rudy Gobert kills two birds with one stone! With so many NBA stars picking their locations these days, I’m thrilled we got an All-NBA talent who is locked up, and wants to be here. And I am pleased with the players Connely added to fill our roster - win now talent with playoff experience.

I give Connelly a full A grade for his work this summer, making the Wolves a legitimate playoff team, far faster than I could ever have imagined.

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts. I've just realized that normally a TP and Kyle Anderson signings would be already an excellent off-season by MIN standards (remember Thibs deals to Teague, Hill, Aldrich, Shabazz, Dieng and Gibson) I remember how I was concerned by TC contract negotiations history and MPJ contract. But then TC and new owners just gambled the way I never dreamed before. It's really high stakes game now. But what I love about our situation right now is that our front office is still working due diligence, I like every move they made, but especially little things like unexpected Lawson two way contract, Pascal two way, Minott on Gupta special, Rivers and Forbes.

Aggressive or conservative?

Another very funny thing: actually MCD-Anderson-TP-Minott-Knight might develop into my ideal wing combination for five-out basketball. MCD needs to stay out of foul trouble, but he is all NBA team defense material, Minott motor and rebounding ability is everything I want from starting forward next to Towns, Anderson and TP are a perfect veterans. How perverted I am, that I am still thinking about it. And now, all of the sudden we have all this guys AND Gobert AND Towns AND Edwards. It is absolutely insane!

This is by far the most talented team the Wolves have ever had. Never before have we had four guys who could legit be all stars if they stay healthy and have good years. Ant last year was DM level by the stats, and this is going to be year 3 (the jump year.) KAT and Gobert were 3/4 in the best Cs of the entire league. Dlo is a PNR passer with THE BEST PNR big in the entire league (god I love Rudy.) That doesn’t even touch the bench. The longest and tallest starting lineup in the league. This is gonna be so much fun :) :) :).

In a KD to Philly deal … and we lived in a bubble … could we get in on Tyrese Maxey - DLo to Nets in a collateral damage scenario?

I do see DLo as a huge benefactor in the Gobert acquisition, but I do like Maxey’s all-round developing game.

Absolutely zero chance of that occurring, if I am being honest.
