So, are you clever enough to posture for Syndergaard and paint White as your consolation choice potentially keeping his cost down? -Even tho, like many, I think Frasso *could really rise. Could have been a little mis-direction involved
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

Feels a little marginal. I doubt the Dodgers care who the Jays main target was. Just what their return would be,

For all we know they were after and intended to get both Syndergaard and White (such that White wasn't a backup plan at all). Would make sense considering the Stripling injury.

If Pearson was Roger Clemens by now, as prophesied, none of this nibbling around the edges would matter!

Re: General Blue Jays Thread, 2020
Mitch White seems like an underrated pickup. Controllable for the next five years, and solid if unspectacular major league results to date.
Merrifield is solid, but I don't really see a place for him to play. How many times does an all-star get moved to the bench in the second half? That may be Espinal's fate. It's nice to have another option to play instead of Tapia and Zimmer, though.
The relief upgrades are rather meh.
I'm not too concerned about losing any of the guys going the other way. After the last 1.5 years, Groshans has lost most of the prospect cachet he had. Frasso hurts a little, but he's still in Dunedin and not throwing many innings. Could end up being a reliever - albeit a really good one.

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Re: General Blue Jays Thread, 2020
So Bichette, Moreno, Martinez, Tiedemann, and a major leaguer so Espinal or Biggio? That’s a crazy price. That means our infield is empty, and we have a logjam in the outfields with Gurriel/Springer/Soto/Teoscar, and only one of Espinal/Biggio to play 2B/SS. Not to mention the crazy money Soto would ask for, and the Vlad extension.
Would not do it for me.

That's the kind of play i'd go for Shohei Ohtani, atleast he fills two needs, is a pitcher, and can play OF/DH and bats left.

Re: General Blue Jays Thread, 2020
Jays sign JBJ... hmm.
This likely spells the end of Bradley Zimmer's Blue Jays' tenure when Springer is back. Otto Lopez likely heads back to Buffalo for now.
Maybe JBJ gets an open audition until Springer is right.
If JBJ looks like how he has for the last 2 years, I rather have Zimmer. Elite defense and a speed threat. The bat doesn't matter since he doesn't get AB's.

Yeah like Bradley is "better" than Zimmer with the bat but I don't want him getting plate appearances either.
