Yes, and that's great but it's not was I was referring to exactly. I was referring to the the Trump vs. Hillary election where folks either voted third party or didn't vote at all simply because they weren't enthusiastic about Hillary and chose to stay home. That's what really hurt us because Trump ended up stacking the Supreme Court.

As much as I'd prefer a more robust progressive leadership, we have to be realistic when it comes to national elections and vote blue no matter who in the general. Yes, we can battle it out in the primaries but after that we need to come together, even if you have to hold your nose.

Definitely. I don't understand anyone sitting out that particular election on the basis of SCOTUS alone. Pretty sad. But there are no days off now. It is necessary to vote Democrat every election until the demographics are fully shifted and the gerrymandered deck of cards is rearranged into equitable mappings.

I appreciate your thoughts, because I was the guy saying this five years ago and butting heads. We can't get everything we want every time, but it is the only path forward so we have to take it until there is a complete overhaul of the electoral system and third party coalition politics become a possibility in America. I agree. The tenants include things like, no borders, you don't have to go far to the fringes of the libertarian party to find stuff like ... no government roads and bridges, no health and safety for restaurants, even legit crazy **** like no medical credentialing. Hey all Dr. Nedleeds patients are dead the market will fix itself. Regardless we just went through at least at state and local level the most authoritarian, government show your papers, period since the reds scare or stop and frisk and they were nowhere to be found. So they wield no power at any level, anywhere. People were forced to show papers for basic local freedom of commerce and movement, all for a vaccine that meant nothing for healthy people, even more ludicrous for healthy recovered people and certainly meant nothing for getting a bagel and coffee. So they are a massive nothing burger if they couldn't stop that as a matter of court or public opinion.

Harris helped Biden beat Trump. Granted, we don't know what happens if he'd picked somebody else, somebody more progressive and outspoken like Abrams, maybe Trump actually wins if Biden goes down that route.

The VP doesn't do much but the name on the ticket is important. Tim Kaine helped Hillary win Virginia, which she might have won anyway, but he didn't make a good impression. Could she have won with a different pick? There's no way to know, but in a close race, winning the election is a big part of the VP choice.

And they get the job if the president dies, as was already pointed out, so also that.

I don't mind Harris. I know some liberals wanted somebody more left, but I'm OK with her. As long as we're Manchined and Filibustered, we're not going to pass any far-left legislation anyway. Doesn't matter much who the president or VP are, as long as the president isn't republican.

But if they hit on some cash (could be from selling hot dogs) they get to keep it regardless of whether the person is ever charged, let alone convicted, and the person has to file a bunch of arcane legal **** to stop their cash from going to the government (local cops get a cut, then a kick up to DEA/Feds).
