Youch. Always a sad time when parents die.

Mine died 2 days apart, in separate facilities, neither knowing the other was that ill.

Well deserved. Let's hope that the Lakers, raptors, heat and 76ers have to hang a number 6 Celtics jersey in their arenas.

For 1 year they'll have to paint a shamrock on their floors.

Hopefully Kyrie won't grind his foot on them.

I may get a jersey. I don't like spending money on jerseys (I don't wear them), I have two from my entire life, but I think I want 1 more. will get it after lbj is done if he's keeping it the rest of his career.
NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE JERSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(!)

I got the Celtics Towel. Never used it. It's just hanging on my Living room wall.
I never thought to get a specific player's gear.

I get the merit and sentiment of course but Bill Russell's not Jackie Robinson. Russell's an alltime great player and humanitarian but he's more as Roberto Clemente than as Jackie Robinson. Tremendous honor and wish he had it bestowed on him personally.

Whoa. Hold the phone!!!
Russell was the first of many things, including the first Black Head Coach in the NBA.

He surpasses Jackie Robinson. Robinson won the World Series, once.
Don't get me wrong. Robinson was a pioneer, in his own right, as was Frederick Douglass "Fritz" Pollard.

Russell, nobody has surpassed him, as of yet.

Ok he did break the nba coaching color barrier, along with his collegiate and olympic successes as an amateur, his other worldly NBA succeses, and his civil rights efforts, I'm on board. But your way off base (get it) regarding Jackie Robinson. Hard to name an American athlete who lived through more hate by fellow Americans than him. Ali and Aaron come to mind. Robinson was well into his 30s when the Dodgers won. It wasn't even a top 3 achievement of his.

My son bought his first sports poster today.

You've a seen it before. Classic.
