RJ believes if the Knicks get Mitchell next to Barrett, players will want to come to play for the Knicks. Does D. Mitchell pull that much sway around the league?

bruh i agree he aint the gem owner, but he really has laxed off and let the basketball guys do their jobs, not interferring, etc.

Mitchell isn't THAT good.
Mitchell needs the ball in his hands and 20 FGA to be effective.

No. There's a reason the Wolves had to give up all those picks to get Gobert... Teams in small markets, ala MIN, UTA, MIL...these teams (aside from MIL as they have a juggernaut team now) really struggle to add TOP tier talent.. We are the Knicks.... Donovan Mitchell, RJ Barrett, Mitchell Rob, Brunson, IQ, D Rose.. we would just need to trade Julius with whatever assets we have left to try and bring in another big time guy.

NY would certainly be more appealing than it is now if Mitchell was there but that's not saying alot lol. He's hardly good enough to warrant superstars let alone stars wanting to rush to play in NY.

If we can get Mitchell for Quickley, Fournier, Rose, 2 NYK picks, and 3 of our protected (or less); we would still have the ammo to make another big trade in a year or two.

Something like Brunson/Mitchell + Randle/Toppin + 3-4 picks for a true title caliber #1 option in our version of the Kawhi-to-Toronto trade.

...and we'd still have a solid 9-man rotation left over with: that new #1 option, Brunson/Mitchell, Randle/Toppin, Barrett, Robinson, Grimes, Hartenstein/Sims, Reddish/Hunt, McBride.
