It amazes me how baseball players are so quick to tarnish their legacy like this. It couldn't be me

My guess is that baseball just has more transparent testing at this point.

Yup. If me taking steroids means I cant end up in the HOF but I end up making close to half a bill in my career. Im cool with that trade off.

And he’s only losing like $3m. I consider PEDs less egregious than the shenanigans the Astros pulled anyways….

Yup. Especially when considering its the MLB and basically like 90% of the greats since the 80s have been caught with steroids, its like getting caught doping in cycling, who really cares at this point.

And ya I bet if you were to ask MLB players what they consider worse, its what the Astros did.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But my one kid had ringworm and we literally got athletes foot cream from the dollar store to treat it.

Of course he already had the contract, so at that point he's getting the money either way.

Sounds BS unless he's taking baths in this ****.

It won’t affect his legacy IMO

It will if his success is in any way related to taking PED's unless we are to assume this is his first and only time, which i highly doubt.

Like all MLB players, he has MANY negative tests, now one positive to go with the MANY. Even a negative test just before this positive one. My guess, is like many/all MLB players, they are on a concoction of Drugs for recovery - not just from injury but for the marathon that is a MLB season. The concoction consists of drugs that individual (ingredients that make it up) are illegal/banned, but together don’t test negative. Tatis probably got sloppy during his injury recovery and took something that in wrong order/method.

Apparently it was in a ringworm medication he took:

This is an all time hilarious lie.

Clostebol, what he got caught using is a controlled substance in the US. It's part of what the East Germans used back in the day.

Clobetasol, which is a different thing is a topical steroid used to treat skin irritation. It is not even anti-fungal and can actually make ringworm worse.

So basically he got caught using part of the cocktail the East Germans used to use, so he blamed it on a creme he shouldn't have been taking for ringworm which in fact contained a different but similarly named drug.

Y’all too nice. This is a super rich athlete. He has trainers, chefs, personal doctors.

Ain’t no way something happened accidentally imo. What he might got sloppy with is his timing to get clean.

I highly doubt a athlete of his stature with his access is doing such primitive steroids, that he is worrying about cycling on and off and how long until his piss is clean. They all have designer stuff. Formulated to their needs (not all want just muscles and strength). Formulated for their body type, their blood type, and more. They never have to cycle on or off. Formulation can be taken the day of and not test positive. IF he was taking it the right way. Supplementing the injection with the pill supplemented with the IV.

If that was true nobody would ever get caught right? At least in the major sports leagues. Most athletes get caught with masking agent in their system vs the actual substance.

But ringworm doing this is just nonsense imo. Just as much as players claiming fertility treatments

MLB players have been figuring out new inventive ways to cheat all the time. They only say what the Astros did is "worse" to cover their ass, it's part of the culture of baseball. No single sport has had many different instances of cheating than baseball, steroids, sign stealing, corked bats, sticky stuff etc.

Tatis has played 3 season and he's 22. I don't think this will affect his HOF chances.

PEDs used to mean no chance at the HOF, but the people voting in 10-20 years won't be the same people voting now. And over time, voters have become more lenient. Bonds got something like 66% out of a needed 75% to get in for his last year. HIs first year of eligibility he got around 30%
