I mean, we can make the play in at worst with these guys. Let KD sit until someone makes a legitimate offer.

Its still crazy to me that KD really doesn't want to play on this team. All just because the team is done giving his buddies jobs or spots on the team. If he really wants to sit out and we are staying a float or overperforming expectations I'll laugh if he decides to suit up.

You guys have to find a 3rd team to route Westbrook to. I think that's the real hold up.

I don't. I think the KD domino has to fall first.

How does that trade even work, anyway?

In exchange for taking on WB, and perhaps sending some real talent to the Nets, what would the 3rd party team be getting? One or both Lakers #1's?

In exchange for sending out Kyrie, what would the Nets be getting? Just the 3rd team's talent exchange, or one of those Lakers #1's, too?

Yeah the smart play is to PUMP up Kyrie's value early in the season then DUMP for the best offer from a playoff bound team by the deadline.

Current value Kyrie is too low.

If he joins Cupcake and holds out - all good - both fools will actually be worth more than current values at the Deadline as both should be injury free for a finals push by whoever will bid for them.

Nets only have to worry about finishing ahead of the Rockets.

I wouldn't discount Phoenix as a deadline Kyrie destination, especially if Paul suffers a mid-season injury. NOLA could also be a deadline suitor if they feel they're a contender.

That would be an ideal scenario, ship Kyrie/KD out for Booker, Bridges and Picks. Sorry, but you cannot gift a team two stars without getting a great talent back. And I WOULD make that trade in a heart beat. Booker, Simmons and a potential third star would still make us a contender. 2024, a lot of contracts come off the books, I see Nets going after JB by then.

they can't (simmons rule) and won't trade booker. that is fantasy.

phoenix as a kyrie destination in season though is conceivable. all of their picks, ayton, briges, filler, for KD/Kyrie gives them more incentive to do a deal. Kyrie extends their window beyond CP3. by $ it works pretty easily once Ayton is allowed to be traded again.

they'd probably need a center (Sharpe) in the package too if Ayton is coming back but generally that's a workable deal. i personally believe that they haven't put their all in offer on the table at any point yet.

To be fair, the player that everyone here wants in return from the suns, Devin Booker, was also awful versus Dallas in the playoffs. Scored his first FG at the end of the 2nd QTR in that dismal game 7 iirc.

The whole suns team was garbage against Dallas.

I wasn't even thinking that much. If CP3 goes down, they could come to the table with something like Ayton straight up or Bridges straight up or CP3+picks.

I know some people don't like Stephen A., but he has been spot on, IMHO, on KD and Kyrie. And this is great:

He's right.

If the offers aren't up to snuff, the only thing that needs to be said by the Nets front office is "we will see you in camp next month". End of story.

They’re going to be a distraction in camp and cause more problems that’s the issue.

I mean, normally that's some hotfire one never wants to play with, as a franchise.

Same time-- I think people who've been watching the Nets all this time realise that the game has CHANGED, SON.

F-CK-KEVIN-DURANT.

F-CK whatever this moron thinks he wants today, changing his mind tomorrow, Twittering about his pitiful cleverness, the next day.
F-CK this: 'I'm the greatest Bball person in the world, meanwhile sniffing Jordan's jock-strap.'

Get this complete sociopath out of town when the trade makes sense.
He'll never understand it in a million years, so why make that a conditional?

Stein saying he might retire before playing another game for the Nets.

I mean, my spiteful, frustrated fan side says let him rot then.

But the smarter fan in me says, we signed him for cap space, hopefully Tsai puts his ego aside and gets the team a deal that makes sense, even if it isn't their ridiculously lofty asking price.

Fine with me.

The only person who KD is hurting with this crap is himself. At this point the only ones begging him to stay are the bandwagoners and dudes from NetsDaily who think the Nets should drink KD's toilet bowl water if it means getting him to stay.

Me personally, I'd do the deal with Boston because I like Jaylen Brown and Grant Williams on this roster with what we have, but the Nets are right to not trade him for less than what they want. So, he can feel free to retire if he wants.

Breaking: Kevin Durant has requested a trade; UPDATE: KD wants Sean Marks/Nash fired - Shams

Post#1495 » by Paradise » Mon Aug 15, 2022 9:01 pm

Smart fans understand let him throw all the tantrums to the media he wants and his agent wants. Let him sit out and become the new Ben Simmons meme while Ben is out there balling and busting his ass for the team. The moment the Nets start playing good without him, the media will destroy him and he will not ever sit well with that even if it was in another uniform.

KD is only hurting himself by not even denouncing one of these reports unlike Kyrie who quickly shot down the Sean Marks/Nash report. At the end of the day, Kyrie grew up in NJ and wanted to cement his legacy with his favorite franchise. He’s got family and friends across the tri state area probably telling him he’s dead wrong.

KD does not have that type of connection or entourage and doesn’t care to have that. Oh well. Damage has already been done and the excuses ran out a week ago. He thought this was the 2003 Cavs Front Office and he thought completely wrong. We aren’t going to let you do whatever you want like LeBron.

Royce O’Neale and Alondes Williams both confirmed they had zero contact with KD but connected with Kyrie and showed up to his NJ Pro-Am the same day I met them both. Meanwhile, KD went out for a love fest date with Harden in Europe after allegedly being so unhappy with him last summer.

There’s really no way this dude can show up in another jersey regardless of if it’s Boston, Toronto or Miami preaching loyalty or anything close to the sort ever again.

Let him stay here and destroy his own reputation further because there’s plenty of NBA players looking at him suspect.

I do now believe there is a complete rift between a Kyrie and KD on a basketball and semi-personal level. I do think the 4 year extension situation started it but I think it’s now become an excuse because he truly can’t stand burning a bridge with Kyrie and also wanting out equally.

This is the snake like stuff he got destroyed on when he left OKC. He can’t be a man about it and admit, he’s unhappy with Kyrie. So, he’ll use Nash as a scapegoat after complimenting him right after being swept.

KD signed here and never informed ownership or Marks he was signing here. Then, explained how excited he was to play with LeVert, Allen, Kurucs, etc. Asks for the Nets to explore the Harden situation and deal for him. They get him for the same guys he was excited to join and because Harden wants to be a pussy and run to Philly, now it’s Sean’s fault? It’s his fault we have Curry, Harris, Mills, Warren and Kyrie which can all alone drop 40 points on any given night. Along with Simmons, Claxton, O’Neale ranked as the top synergy defenders across the league for the last 2-3 seasons.

GTFO.

Yep. This is how I look at it too.

On paper, if healthy, and if Nash's assistants have cooked up an actual offense, this team is playoff caliber. If Kyrie and Ben are locked in, they're surrounded by multiple shooters. That's going to be tough to stop.

We've got three excellent defenders on the wing and up front. Ben's excellent at hitting open shooters, we have the data to prove it. Kyrie is Kyrie. If Warren has anything left that's another guy who gets buckets. I wouldn't be shocked if the Nets look good without KD.

Let KD sit. It's his career he's hurting.

Says a lot about him that the only report he's come out and denied is this one claiming he's retiring if his demands aren't meet.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
