Jason Richardson. Became my favorite player as soon as I saw him in a dunk contest.

Dion Waiters. There was something about his game that I really enjoyed watching.

Even though he could be infuriating with his poor shot selection and horrendous defense, Jamal Crawford was very entertaining at times and seems like a truly nice person who has great respect for the history of the game.

Rockets version of this guy!

Used to LOVE watching Robert Horry play! He worked so absolutely well in that Rockets offense and defense with Hakeem!

Trevor Booker. He loved the Jazz and gave us this moment:
Derrick Favors is another (as you can see I'm too lazy to change my avatar just because I like the guy so much). He was never an amazing player, but he was a guy who put in a lot of effort and was just an all around good guy.

Another guy who comes to mind that borderline doesn't qualify is Antonio McDyess. Before his injuries, he was arguably a budding superstar. He adjusted very well to being a role player and was a great teammate

I like him when he is on inside the NBA.
He is well spoken and pretty sharp.
He would be a great player in this era. I could see him have a donovan mitchell type career in this day and age.

Boris Diaw when he was with the Suns. The season when Amare was out, he was doing all kinds of wizardry with the ball playing point as a big man.

Manu Ginobili is considered a star rather than a superstar right? So my pick goes to Manu.
One of the clutch and genuinely nice NBA player of all time and has NO drama BS.

He gave that team a whole new dimension when Amar'e was out, very surprising! And he would cock back and dunk on people, too. He was surprisingly strong too, you could tell because he was hard for players to uproot or back down in the post.

One of mine too. Was also a huge fan of Pacers-era Jermaine O'Neal.
As far as really non-star players, I always had a fondness for Marquis Daniels. Was probably the hair.
(And being half Canadian, half Argentine, I am unashamedly biased towards most players from those countries. Not you, Anthony Bennett.)
