I think Kobe was more obsessed with being Jordan, than winning.

Well, Jordan never quit on his team halfway through a Game 7 to make a point to the TNT announcers. So I'm gonna go with him.

Kobe was insecure about being viewed as Robin, that became an obsession. He wanted to win but he wanted to be viewed as the top dog more than winning.

When asked if he ended up being the one to leave the Los Angeles Lakers instead of O'Neal, Bryant said: "I would have went some place else and won more championships," Bryant said. "That's how driven I was. I was just that obsessed about winning without him. Everything was about that. I was obsessive about it and there was nothing that was going to get in my way."

Jordan never had that problem. It was clear Jordan was the Top dog in the league, it was never a concern about who the man was. He was obsessed with winning at everything. No matter what the game was even ping pong he would go to extreme lengths to get better and win.

I mean, VERY LOUD manifestations of being "obsessed" with winning are whatever, but Jordan was a winning-obsessed sociopath indeed, the machismo-induced myth feels justified in this case.

Kobe was much more insecure in comparison, his Mamba persona always feeling like PR.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

I'll go with MJ. Kobe was too but he was a nicer kid. :P
