Analyzing the 2022-23 Sixers Season Schedule
The season schedule is out. We have 34 nationally televised games, and what looks to be the hardest schedule after the all star break.
Like what the fawk is this. Convenient for the podcasters who want to find reasons to not give Embiid the MVP and steal it from him again. Adam Silver hates the Sixers lol.
15 of the team's last 22 games are on the road.
From Feb to the end of the season Philly faces:
Grizzlies, Celtics, Heat, Heat, Mavericks, Bucks, Wolves, Bulls, Warriors, Suns, Mavericks, Raptors, Nuggets, Bucks, Celtics, Heat and Hawks....
Hahahahah, the NBA isn't even trying to hide it's distate for Embiid winning the MVP or Philly being a top seed. We'll be lucky if we go .500 from the end of February.

Good.
Our chances of winning the championship improves if our guys are not looking to go for individual awards and have only one goal, and thats the championship.
Need to win a lot early then make the last x games meaningless that we can just rest Embiid, Harden and Tucker.

Maybe so, but our chances getting injured with so many tough games on the road also goes up.76ciology wrote:Good.

So we’ll be #1 seed in the whole NBA before the all-star break, good for confidence

Thats where the benefit of having Tobias and having 4 superstar to borderline star guys, gets into the picture. Tobias’ quite an ironman and is pretty good in reg season and first round. We should get mostly 3 of our top 4 guys most of the season. Some even only 2 of our top 4 guys, and it’s still a playoff team.

Since when is this team any good without Embiid? We saw how we played with Tobias and Maxey, .500 at best. With Harden that should go up, but we'll have to see how he is this year.

Its a different case now, we have PJ, House, Melton, Reed and Thybulle to compliment a team without Embiid.
The problem back then was our defensive scheme, its too reliant on Embiid. Its an obsolete scheme defense where you funnel the scorer to the goalie. And whats worse was you have the shortest SFs in the league in Thybulle or Green.
I do think we can be a good defensive team without Jojo, playing more collective and more switching on defense.
I think offensively we can be a good offensive team with Harden, Maxey, Tobias and Melton.
You can run alternate two man game with Maxey or Harden or Tobias and run ISO on Maxey or Harden or Tobias, depending on hot hand and match-ups.

Without Embiid. We’d still be as nearly as talented or as talented or more talented than the Hornets.
Harden = Lamelo
Maxey = Rozier
Tobias = Hayward
Tucker or Melton = Bridges

Having ex-Rockets guys also helps where our team can play a Harden centric squad, Embiid centric squad and a combined Harden Embiid centric squad.
We have the tools to properly load manage our guys. We just have to play it right.

Pretty optimistic but I like your enthusiasm. We'll have to see how all the pieces fit, but in theory it should work. I do think we need one more piece though.

I don’t think the order of regular season games has ever been a reason a team did or didn’t win the title. Back part of the schedule should be fun.

I'm lost. Does this have something to do with Durant?

Yes I posted in the wrong thread. Thought it was the off season thread. Still stands though

Re: Analyzing the 2022-23 Sixers Season Schedule
The story begins and ends with embiid’s health. It doesn’t matter what the schedule is.
Embiid is in the zone. We need to get lucky with embiid health for 3 months in April-June. That’s all.
We don’t need harden of 2014-2020 with healthy embiid. We need harden playing point guard getting 18-22 and 11 assist which he is more thjs capable of.

Re: Analyzing the 2022-23 Sixers Season Schedule
i don't see this as such an issue as people is predicting.
Is better to have a hard schedule at the end than at the begining, two reasons:
1- All teams with expectations start trying to win and at the end with adjusted expectatives some of those teams are gonna be tanking or resting guys.
2- raking wins at the begining could favor us to rest guys at the end.
Also, in the overall we have the sixth best schedule.
