Rob Pelinka 'Very Active' In Looking For Shooting, Size To Add To Lakers Roster

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Aug 18, 2022 5:12 am

Rob Pelinka has been "very active" in attempting to add more shooting and size to the Los Angeles Lakers roster, according to Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN.

"Rob Pelinka has still been very active, even in the dog days of August. He's been on the phone a lot, he's still trying to find deals to bring in more shooting, perhaps some size. And so I think those conversations continue all the way into training camp," said Wojnarowski on NBA Today.

Wojnarowski initially discussed the impact of Lebron James' two-year extension on the construction of the team's roster moving forward.

Wojnarowski added that there is still room for the Lakers to make small changes before the start of the season.

"I still think this Lakers roster may look maybe not dramatically different, but subtly different going into next season."

So what I'm hearing, is Russ, THT, 2027 and 2029 for Theis, Hield, and Turner? Sounds good to me lol

That would be acceptable if the picks were unprotected. Works well both ways. My understanding is the holdup is that Pelinka won't make them both unprotected or that he hasn't been willing to even add the 2nd FRP. If that's the case, the deal likely doesn't get done. KP isn't going to shortchange us and it's likely we move forward towards making a deal prior the deadline if the Lakers refuse to come to the table with a reasonable deal.

Why would the Nets go for this considering the other packages that they have turned down?

A healthy Glassboy is better than any of the players already mentioned. He is an All-Star player (technically). He is also a good fit with Simmons, provided Simmons grows up and actually plays ball.
