Luka looks fluid against Serbia. I wonder how slimmed Luka matchup with WIGGENS, LEONARD, & ISAAC coming season.

Luka looks great. He's only 6 days with the team, he will get only better. And remember, D in Fiba competitions is much more aggressive and no defensive 3 seconds violation.

Re: An early Eurobasket thread
I understand people wanting Dragic, but the Mavs are clearly going in a direction where they can switch a lot on defense with big players. That has always been a big disadvantage with Brunson and Seth Curry. So when the Mavs can't guarantee him minutes like he wanted they should not sign him. It's that simple. Just think of the locker room problems he could bring, and especially how he could trash the management in front of Doncic.

Now I understand why we have Pinson. He can switch anyone on the bench and won't trash management.

Compared to not being able to switch anyone on bench and have lockerroom problems? Sure I take the no issues option.

Because Dragic is known locker room problem? And he unlike Pinson can actually play. Bucks are paying Giannis' brother to make him happy. Mavs are paying Pinson and few others to make Kidd happy. Makes sense.

Well, he asked for a trade from the Suns when he had to share the ball and he attacked the management after that (not that it was not deserved though). He was offered a contract by the Mavs, but he wanted minutes that they did not give him. I would not have guaranteed him minutes considering how he has been playing in the few games he has played the last two seasons. His efficiency has been super bad. Even now he is injured. Would he even have anything left in the tank after playing a full season and then the playoffs? At the same time, it seems like the whole team loves Pinson, even though he does not play. I can't say how important he is culture-wise, but I assume he is important considering they resigned him when he never plays.

Dragic is not injured. And he wanted to play 20 minutes not more, those minutes will now get someone worse than him. Sure, Luka and Dinwiddie can theoretically be enough, if they play all games. But they won't. There will be minimum 20 games than 1 or both will missing. What then?
Kidd is signing his friends all over the place. Is this really necessarily and the best, if we all know that Luka is the only valuable Mavs' asset?

Well, they signed Tyler Dorsey who averaged 10 points last time he was in the NBA at 22. He is now entering his prime at 27. Frank is also a good backup. I don't see them playing worse than Dragic, but we will see.

You should read Slovenian news not American about Slovenian team.

Ntilikina can't play Pg, never could. Dorsey is Sg, who needs ball in his hands to be effective.

Dragic had better advance numbers than Durant in playoffs, he also had team's highest On/Off +20.
All in all, Dragic is still valuable in a backup role, Frank never was and probably never will be.

That's not most realistic statement.

Cuban recently praised Frank for his playoff performance and said he was sick and banged up doing it.

Luka played like trash tonight. The team was much better with him off the floor.

Whats the point of that post? Dragic didnt sign with mavs because he didnt want backup minutes. So, you should be bashing dragic for not wanting to play backup minutes instead of dragging mavs into it, or frank for that matter.

He wanted backup minutes. He didn't want to be a cheerleader like Pinson.

Dragic wanted backup minutes but he didn't want to be a cheerleader. Every game he plays, he shows that he can still be a very valuable asset, plus he's a great veteran leader.
