Hey Pistons board. Not a Pistons fan but I'm really excited about this young team Detroit has put together. Great collection of young talent definitely an up and coming group. Anyone here know of any footage out there on Youtube, Instagram etc. of these guys working on their games that they can post here I'd love to check it out. Thanks!

There’s been very little. I saw like a 30 second clip of jalen duren working on his handle and some mid range shots and then like two months ago Killian Hayes had a couple drives in a video and Marvin bagley had a few three pointers.

Other than that there was just the report that saddiq bey was training in the mountains in Colorado but no footage from that.

I'm a pretty big sports fan and I can't imagine spending time watching workout footage. Not that I think there's anything wrong with it at all; for me it just falls on the "things to do while in jail" list. I'd rather be on my boat, kayaking, fishing, golfing, hunting/shooting, camping, downhill skiing, bowling, engaging in a movie/TV/Playstation, or knocking boots. Hell, even antique shopping, throwing a football around or shooting hoops in the driveway rank higher.

I do like the fact "we" attended playoff games as a group AND show up as a group to random runs.

It suggests we are actually a team building towards something here.

Doesn't Rico work officially for the Sacramento Kings? I know he did these runs forever, but seems weird that teams would let players work out with coaches from other orgs in the off-season.

I actually think he works for the raptors now, I could be wrong. I could also look it up, but there’s no theatre in that.

I'm starting to jump on the Cowology bandwagon. If Stewart, who is already a beast of a defender starts hitting threes between 35-40%, while taking 5-6 a game, he becomes insanely valuable.

He would become a unicorn in his own right;

A hard-nosed, bully in the post, defensive beast, that can hit threes. He would essentially become a top-tier 3&D 4.

Honest. If he becomes a legitimate threat from deep, a player that draws his man out of the post, and allows Cade, and Ivey freedom to operate in the paint, holy ****. His shot looks pure as hell.

Stewart on the 3-point line after a P&R while Cade/Ivey penetrate, with Duren roaming for the lob is nuts. Also a wide open Bey. Weaver may have built something really special here...

While he is very young and I expect him to eventually improve, I don’t think Ivey will ever become a shut down defender. I hope he can be an average defender one day.

A couple different ones from Ivey. Dude seriously might be the fastest guy in the NBA. Man if he knocks down that runner, it’s gonna be trouble for the NBA.

He’s looking like one those guys that can get his when ever he wants and he’s a willing passer. Might not be a play maker but the gravity he creates is insane and it’s pretty easy for him to hit a wide open man like the Bagley pass when he gets swallowed up in traffic.

Dude is legit. The spacing he's going to provide for Ivey/Cade is a big deal and not enough people are talking about this. I said it before and I'll say it again; he's the guy most likely to make a big jump this season and I expect him to be in the running for MIP. And he pairs very well with either Duren or Bagley.

Stewart is my favorite Piston pretty easily, and I'll always go to guys who play hard and play defense. Jerome Williams - Ben Wallace - KCP - Bruce Brown, etc..... I think Stewart is poised to make a big jump this year and trading away Grant may have been more about what it opens up for Stewart this season than it was about possibly drafting Murray, getting Duren, or resigning Bagley.

You have to forgive me, and probably a bunch of other Piston fans because most view Stewart the same way;

A ground bound defensive bigman.

If Stewart, who is a physically imposing monster, is going to be the starting 4, who also shoots the 3 ball at a high rate, while hitting them becomes reality, he is going to have a huge surge in popularity throughout the league. Very, very few players of his ilk(super physical shot-blocking rebounder. Emphasis on the physical part)are deadly from three.

It would/will be a highly unique trait.

We'll see how it goes, but this group could be really good, really fast if Stewart becomes legit from deep. That's a linchpin player.

Stewart hasnt shown the ability to dribble, drive or pass the ball. His ability to even handle quick passes made to him is below average and his first year was downright awful - he must have bobbled half the passes given to him under the basket.

Being a PF that cant dribble, drive or pass is a really odd mix. He had some very good offensive rebounding skills year 1 and less last year it seemed.

He can guard a lot of guys 2-5 spots which is interesting and valuable. But its probably more valuable as a 5, because you hope your team has someone like Tatum, Durant, Giannis, Lebron, Paul George, etc, at the 4. A tall, do it all talented star.

it's fun to see the guys out there but i don't think there's much to take away from these kinds of runs. there's little structure, guys aren't going 100% (with some trying harder than others), etc.

that said two things stood out to me:

- cade's defense. we know he's a good defender and while he didn't shut curry down he showed that he can stay in front of him even when curry is trying to put moves on him. curry is arguably the best ball handler in the league but cade managed to not get blown by or give much separation. with the lack of structure it didn't look like there was many off-ball screens being set so that's a whole other animal in defending curry we didn't get to see.
- stewart's shooting. we only saw like 5-6 3s and it's a highlight video so we don't know what % he shot but it was more the "eye test". the big thing to me is that he was shooting with no hesitation, which is a good sign both confidence-wise and to get shots off in games. it means he is more comfortable with his footwork/mechanics to speed up the shot process, which will let him get off more shots in c&s situations. it leaves me more optimistic that he can be a viable spacing threat this upcoming season.
