Still early, but I think Zach Tom should get serious consideration for a starting spot.

Enagbare is having some nice pressures this second half.

I'm too lazy to look it up but how was Rodgers in his first 3 preseasons playing with the backups?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

My memory of preseason Rodgers was feeling whelmed (neither over/under) in 2007. It was his appearance in the Dallas game that came later that season, combined with me being over Favre's shenanigans and proclivity for turnovers, that had me 100% all in on the transition to Rodgers.

I think the biggest disappointment with Love is the game plan against KC - the coaches handled him with kid gloves and an exceptionally vanilla gameplan; the question, was that because of what they saw behind the scenes or just being overly conservative? If I recall, they expressed regret about the gameplan after the Loss, acknowledging Love looked better after they opened things up a bit. I lean 70/30 kid gloves vs behind the scenes. My take - it's still impossible to have a fair evaluation on love if your not attending every practice. It sounds naive, but I was thrilled watching a stream on family night and seeing him best rodgers (N.B., I'm a Rodgers guy.) in the "throw the ball in the net" game. Dude had **** mechanics his first two years, and that's at least a sign he's putting work in. Likewise, I see a confidence and sense of leadership I didn't see before. Is he the third coming? Statistically, probably not...

I'm in MN, so won't get the game until it's recorded at midnight? Worth a watch, or at least the first half?

Also, don't post much, but James Jones was on the Ryen Russillo podcast within the last month - I know he's a media figure now, but I believe him when he said the vast majority of the guys in the locker room had complete confidence in what rodgers had shown in practice by 07 to know they were gravy going into 2008. Would be interesting if Davante ever gave candid thoughts on Love.

Thanks for the summary, I was a little surprised the YPA were lower than I would have guessed.

My two cents worth on guys who helped their cause and guys who didn't

Helped

McDuffie
Goodson
Winfree
Tom
C, Slaton
Ahmed (probably not in Green Bay, unless Crosby's not ready to go soon)

Not so good
Amari Rogers (so-so, but he needs more than so-so at this point)
Summers
Tyler Davis
Gafford
P. Taylor

And the What-the-Hell! award goes to Danny Etling. He was pulling away from the NO defenders the whole way. He's got more wheels than I expected.

I remember him not looking like the heir apparent.

Davante led the league in drops. Chase had tons of drops in camp and preseason last year. Not saying Doubs will ever be at their level but I'm not too worried about drops yet.

A year ago:

The drop issues for Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase have made the transition from preseason game to practice field. Chase struggled with drops in his team’s preseason defeat at the hands of Washington last Friday, dropping all three of his targets — all on third-down attempts by the offense. Those issues continued during a routine Sunday practice.

According to The Athletic’s Jay Morrison, Chase got the first target of 11-on-11 work and dropped a ball that was going right at his chest.

As Paul Dehner Jr. later pointed out, Chase had another big drop in 7-on-7 redzone work, one that resulted in a turnover.

At this point, one could argue it’s a mental thing for Chase, who has never had this sort of problem at any level of the sport. Some of his drop issues last Friday could be attributed to playing with Brandon Allen, an excuse that went out the window on Sunday.

The Bengals have said they aren’t worried about the issues that popped up in the last preseason game, but this sort of trend could see the rookie playing plenty in the team’s preseason finale.

I don't understand how anyone could have watched last night's game and not have been thoroughly impressed by Love's performance, he absolutely balled out with several big time throws. The deep shot to Toure was an absolute dime, the PA to Winfree was a perfectly thrown ball, the Amari drop was placed perfectly just outside of the LBs reach, the scramble play to Taylor in the corner of the endzone might have been his most impressive throw of the game, hitting Doubs in stride with 2 dudes covering him isn't even in the top 3 throws he made. There were others too. Love played like a starting NFL QB surrounded by backup caliber players last night
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

What's most impressive is the throws he's able to make outside the pocket especially when he's rolling to his left. Those are tough throws but damn if the arm talent isn't shining through on them.

I'm with you though. Apparently people are watching completely different games or have stange expectations on where he should be in his development. Kids got the talent and he's starting to flash. Heaven forbid that a prospect that was a raw project comming out has some inconsistency issues still in year 3

It's year 3 but year 1 had no OTA's, abbreviated training camp and no preseason games.

Zach Tom continues to impress in pass protection. After not allowing a single pressure on 18 pass-blocking snaps a week ago, he didn’t allow one yet again on 19 pass-blocking snaps.

I was watching the Saint's coverage of the game, and their announcers praised Love frequently and said he was a starter-quality QB.
