Cavs Rebrand

Post#1 » by JujitsuFlip » Thu Jun 2, 2022 5:35 pm

Looks like the Cavs swapped the yellow for gold and the navy blue for black. Redid some of the logos too.

What do you all think?

They kept them clean and simple. I'd be curious to see how they look on the court.

At least it's better than Utah?

Really surprised there's no fringe or anything. Yeah, they do look like practice jerseys. Not even making the netting gold on the V on the white jerseys? The C being ridiculously large on the black? The wine jersey barely indicates it's associated with the Cavs...

Almost anything is better than the Jazz lol

I think Cavs went way too simple.

Apparently practice jerseys are the new cartoon horses/dinosaurs of the late 90s

I am not really sure the about the direction with these. I work in marketing and I am fully aware that minimalist design is en vogue but these seem to be missing some personality. Jerseys are supposed to be recognizable and fun, not boring and corporate.

I also dont understand using three different logos. The CaVs logo that is on the white jersey should also be on the black jersey in gold font. They also desperately need some sort of trim. If their whole idea was to take parts of past jerseys and mash them together, why didnt they use the block trim that was on the 2003-2007 uniforms?

You make those two changes and they are really nice, but as they sit now they remind me more of the 2014-2016 basic/default Cavs jerseys with no personality or distinguishable appearance. I personally like last years uniforms much better.

I don't care very much, albeit I'm not fond of the big C. I'm not sure why they'd even want to change away from the jersey's they wore in '15/'16.

I think what bothers me more than anything is that the numbers lack uniformity on the white and the wine jerseys.

The jersey I like the most is the black one with the big C, but that probably has more to do with the fact that they remind me of the sleeved jerseys the Cavs wore in 2016 when they beat the Warriors for the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

I like it. It would be nice to see some stability here, but outside of this latest one here, I look forward to the next iteration...
