Pretty surprised by this. The Jazz are hot garbage at the PF/C spot, and Bruno was the highlight of the Summer League for the Jazz, IMO.

Maybe we're aiming to be hot garbage next season and try to get that #1 pick.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Bodies? yes. Warm? maybe. Competent? No.

Jazz also got Stanley Johnson. No picks. Bad deal for the Jazz if you ask me.

Haha just feels like a deal. If THT is **** he’s over paid in 2023-24. If he shows anything he’s gone.

I would have probably liked a second round pick, but I guess it’s a pair of fliers and the Jazz are worse after this deal, so that helps this current part of the plan for 2022.

Do we think Rudy Gay won't play for the Jazz this year? I assumed from the end of season media dumps, if he was a problem with Rudy and Donovan around, would the team want him around with the team starting over?

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have a vet presence ala Vince Carter with the Hawks

The Jazz currently have 19 guys on their roster. Obviously more guys will be moved, but it will be interesting to see because the guys that are rumored to be moved are all high salary guys which make it harder to do straight 1 for 1 plus pick deals.

If we want to compete it's not that we could use... it's a MUST.

I think that probably we have to ship Conley and give Don the PG and use somebody taller at SG. Conley and Don don't work together.

We have to wait.

Are you sure the management wants to compete? I think they'll try to flip as many of the (veteran) players they have for picks. Great year to tank (if you get one of the top two picks).

If the rumored deal for Westbrook happens, that will take at least 2 Jazz players (probably 3) to make happen, and we won't be keeping Westbrook.

Watching Fontecchio at Eurobasket. Easy NBA range. Looks like prime Joe Ingles shooting the ball.

Here's what we are looking at for roster depth at this point, although I fully expect Conley, Bogey, Clarkson and Gay gone either soon or at the trade deadline. Beasley may also be flipped, and don't be shocked if Markkanen's time in Utah is short.

The team, while not playing to win, still needs to fill in with another serviceable big, IMO.

Could we really be looking at a team with Sexton (coming off an injury) as the only real scoring threat, and a player like Fontecchio being the #2 option? Vanderbilt is going to be exhausted going after all those missed shots! lol It's going to be an adventure!

PG: Sexton, Conley, Butler
SG: Clarkson, Horton-Tucker, Beasley, Alexander-Walker, Bolmaro
SF: Bogdanovic, Fontecchio, Agbaji, Juzang, Sneed
PF: Markkanen, Vanderbilt, Gay, Johnson
C: Kessler, Azubuike

I think moving Conley in any deal that doesn't involve Westbrook is going to be hard based on the guarantee number in 2023-24. Basically a team in a deal for him has to believe he'll be of high value to a team for both years. And if its just a straight up deal for someone else I shudder to think how many years of contracts the Jazz would have to take back.

Collin Sexton's early career compares pretty well with Kemba Walker's fwiw. He doesn't pass as much, but otherwise they're in the same ballpark.

Sexton is not a PG, Markkanen is not a C.
There are three kinds of people: Those who can count, and those who can't.
