2022 Cowboy news and notes.

Post#1 » by bluejerseyjinx » Thu Aug 25, 2022 4:56 pm

Thought I would create a thread separate from from State Of Cowboys Union and the Preseason & training camp threads that don't apply.
I believe Tyrone Smith is done and should call it quits IMHO. He hasn't played a full season since the 2016 season and has missed a ton of games since then. Another year older and making way too much money for what we are getting out of him. time to go like Zeke after this year. Not worth his contract anymore.

Better get ready for Cooper Rush sooner than later too. I’ll be surprised if Dak makes it to the bye week.m in one piece.

Like I said over a month ago, I don't have high expectations for our Boys this year. Maybe our defense can be our saviors. Parsons is legit and the best player on out team. Can't wait to see the starting defense this year. They might outscore the offense this year,  Plus Jerry and the gang botched the draft this year. Bad mistake letting Cedric Wilson go for only 7 mill a year. That one still burns my azz.

Rookie with a high ankle sprain starting at LT. This could get interesting real quick.

This is one of the good moves the cowboys have made. With Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson, and Peyton Hendershot TE might be the strongest unit on the team.

He's our best option. I mean, except for going out and signing Eric Fischer or another available like Micah mentioned, what the hell are we do? Not sure I see a better option at the moment.

Finally some good news on the offensive side of the ball. The good Patriots frequently used a 2 TE system with a strong running game. Could get us by for a few weeks till Gallup gets back. I'd like to see the Cowboys use Pollard a hell of a lot more. Like to see him in the slot and on the field with Elliott to open things up.

Not sure why they cut Lindstrom but I’m glad they got him back on the practice squad. I would not be shocked if he’s the starting Center by the end of the season.

I honestly wouldn’t expect a whole lot at this point in his career. Depending on how Tyler Smith does at LT in week 1 I would expect Peters to start until Tyler Smith is ready to be the every day starter. I’m hearing from Eagles fans that the best thing Jason Peters will bring to the Cowboys is his ability to be a mentor or Tyler Smith. Mailata credits JP for helping him become the player he’s become. Hopefully he can do the same for Tyler Smith.
