If they trade him for expirings, after they trade for DM, I don't think it clears that much cap space to sign a star outright. I haven't done any math to confirm this however.

1 bad season? it's 1 for 3 on our team, and the 2 bad seasons can both be attributed to style of play/mentality. you don't build around a player that is only worth anything when they're on a shooting streak

Time to Put up or shut up .
Knicks would not have to add a pick on this trade are you kidding ?
Phoenix should add a pick but not the point.
Clear salary dump and Phoenix gets the best player in the trade . It’s a homerun for both teams if that’s the reality .
Which I’ve been saying isn’t.
Only to the booers is the perception that the FO can’t wait to dump his salary .
My argument is they could have done that easily to any number of teams
