Scary because this particular injury has ended careers or players weren't the same afterwards. Hopefully Chet can recover. It's possible.

OKC in the running for the top pick again. Sam Presti can survive this blunder but I don't know if WeHam could have tbh.

Please be safe Paolo!

Since a lisfranc injury has zero to do with someone’s frame it’s a safe bet that nobody saw this coming. What people were expecting were his limbs to implode on impact which of course never happened. Also Lisfranc is actually not scary as NBA and NFL players have routinely recovered with no impact on their ability to play. So the people that wanted him to get injured probably shouldn’t hang they’re hat on this one.
It could happen to anyone and more often does to NFL players which PB is closer to in size at 6’10 250 than Chet is.
That being said..thank GOD we pick PB and they should ban NBA players under contract from playing in these crap basketball games.

I think some in the NFL have come back but the majority are out of sports within 1-2 years. That's what I've read but haven't deep-dived to verify it.

no one may have expected a lisfranc injury, but most were expecting some type of injury issues.

No.. They we’re expecting a joint related injury specifically BECAUSE of his frame. Thats ALL anyone talked about. Knees, elbows, shoulders, any type of joint injury, he “was going to suffer from” but he didn’t.

If anything, this proves the point that anyone can get injured at anytime with anything. His 195 lb frame had zero to do with type of injury.
I’m not saying it won’t linger or he won’t be injury prone just kind of silly to do victory laps over something unrelated to the primary concern which is his physical profile.

No, people, and myself included, just questioned whether he could stay healthy. no specific item, just because his frame was so slight, that he likely would get injured.

It's a blow to any team when a future key player gets injured. Especially when the team that drafts said player in the top five draft have high expectations of him to be part of the bigger picture. That said, I hope that Chet recovers from his injury and be 100% when he comes back from his recovery.

Man, we are supposed to have a showdown on TNT Nov 1st when Magic visits OKC. Paolo vs Chet. Now it is gone. I feel sad

Hope he recovers fully and come back stronger.

Go Paolo still!

Here's a study of NFL players with Lisfranc injury.

WTF is that? I generally love the Onion, but that's not cool. For the record, Chet doesn't have a history of injuries - he's skinny.

They should stick to mocking Trump.

Can't wait for the big Paolo vs the two Jaylen Williams' showdown :nonono:

If we're healthy I don't see how OKC's frontline can match up with us.

yeah...OKC's frontcourt is not really a concern. Wanted to see PB knock Chet into the 5th row.

Would anyone trade a top 4 protected pick next season for Chet?

Embiid had issues early and was considered a risk. Taking a chance on his earned them some high picks going forward. Those picks did not work out but Embiid did.

OKC is loaded with draft assets and can tank this season. If Chet comes back healthy they could get another star in next year.

Wishing him + them well.
