The top 3 teams of each group advance to the World Cup and Israel, the team that is currently 4th in group J, currently has a 3-4 record (they're playing Sweden later tonight) so it would take a collapse of epic proportions for Finland to miss the World Cup. They only need to win 1 more game to ensure their qualification.
I was a big fan of Finland's teams in the mid 2010s and I'm hoping that this newer generation can follow in their footsteps and play some entertaining basketball.
I'm happily surprised Finland has been this good. Personally I expected these Eurochamps and World cup qualifiers to be learning period for the younger generation, whom I expected still would need 2-3 years before they really be in top of their game. So expected them to reach the next World cup, not this one. The 2010's team is pretty much retired or just too old, with the exception of Salin, but younglings have been really good surprise, even though they still show the age lot of times in a game. Finland is like last years Bulls. Wins the games they are supposed to, but can't really challenge the top teams.
For the group. Sweden and Estonia are out, but as right now I do think Slovenia is joining them. Slovenia isn't really that good without Doncic and Dragic. Israel probably has the second best non-nba roster in this group (after Germany), so I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Doncicless Slovenia twice.
