Re: Most toxic personality
Surprised nobody mentioned Rick Barry yet. He had a pretty bad reputation back in the day.
That's probably the main reason he's so criminally underrated as an all time great.

Re: Most toxic personality
Currently I think it's Westbrook, Kyrie and Ben Simmons.
Historically there are a lot of good ones, but haven't heard AI mentioned. That Pistons squad could have been good but he just wasn't willing to fit in.
Rodman was another one. He was toxic in San Antonio before helping the Bulls 3peat. If he was in the right situation great player to have, but if not he seems like the kind of guy who could wreck your whole team.
Rick Barry may have been the most unlikable superstar ever, though I don't know if he was "toxic." He did lead his team to a title.

Yup. Style of play wise, and off the court drama wise

What?? So a guy who helps his teammates be great and sticks with the organization that drafted him that never won and turns them into a dynasty is toxic?

Yeah, maybe we need to define what we all mean by "toxic"?
Personally, I don't think somebody's toxic just because he's quirky and/or prickly--teammates/colleagues don't have to all like each other to win. As long as the player shows up when healthy, tries his best to support his teammates against opposing teams, gives his best effort each time on the court, and doesn't act so insane as to be an absolute distraction, then I'll forgive that player being a little weird and/or a jerk.
Toxic is when that player's actions/personality are consistently so bizarre/distracting/intimidating that they completely disrupt player morale/cohesiveness, making focus impossible, and the team can't perform well (or as well as it should) because of it.
Rodman was weird (and a bit of a jerk), but he came to play (at least on the Pistons and Bulls) and gave his heart out each game. Jordan also was (is?) a jerk--wouldn't want to be his friend (or even be an acquaintance), but because he wanted to win above all things, he would reign in his obnoxiousness when necessary for the common goal (winning championships).
Kyrie is toxic.
Jordan would punch his teammates in the face because "they didn't meet expectations." His own teammates feared him.
Even if you want to argue that Jordan is the GOAT (and obviously he's top 3 all-time, arguable #1), he also tops the list when it comes to being toxic. Punching your teammates in the face for basketball reasons is toxic, not greatness.
A player who makes you want to play well and is generally known as a good guy is the opposite of toxic. Jordan was never accused of being a good dude.

I honestly don't think Kyrie is toxic, he is just weird. So it comes down to can you coexist with a weirdo on the team. Some can some can't.
Toxic to me is a guy like Jordan calling teammates Ho's etc in practice. After the first few times I would've stood up for those guys, stepped in and fist fought Mike everyday in practice until I got traded cause let's face it I'd probably be 12-15 guy on the roster so no need to keep me![]()
LA Lakers version of Brodie is another guy cause I can't stand adults who don't take accountability and he doesn't do that imo.
Oh and CP3, he just seem like a B.A.N.
I'm sure it's some new school guys and old school guys I missed.
Jordan's the GOAT, so if he is the most toxic ever we need more toxic dudes in the league.

My vote is Vernon Maxwell, who's bad attitude got him kicked out of a championship team.
And it's quite clear from post career interviews he's still the same loose cannon as he was when he played lol.
Even worse he didn't get kicked off the 95 championship team.....he just abandoned them during the playoffs.
I also remember him getting thrown out of b2b playoff games 6 and 7 vs Phoenix in 94. After game 6 he lunged at some reporter outside the locker room.
And in game 7 after getting tossed and restrained by teammates....a police officers had to come and escort him off the floor.
Teams and the league itself were very lenient with him......no way he'd have had a 12 year career in today's league.

Arenas comes to mind, his antics singlehandedly imploded that Wizards team.
Kyrie also seem to be not the most popular in the locker room. From Smart's comments last year, Nets drama last year.

most teammates havent really had a problem with outside of him just not wanting to play. chemistry with kyrie isnt that hard; hes not going to pass you the ball. by that logic, kawhi is toxic, chris paul is toxic and joel embiid is toxic.
I'd say lebron when hes not engaged is worse.
Dwight was pretty bad in houston
Mitchell and gobert are low key awful. gobert blaming his teammates all the time and mitchell deadass not passing one dude the ball not playing d, being having bad body language when hes playing poorly.
I really don't get why people think Kyrie isn't toxic just because he "gets along" with teammates. Players aren't the only part of the equation when talking about teams; there's also the coaching staff and ownership, and Kyrie has done more than enough throughout his career to piss off the latter two to be considered a team-wide cancer. He's not some misunderstood guy, he's a me-first nutjob who always shines a bad spotlight on the team, and the bad press affects chemistry and on-court performance. We saw it in Boston, we saw it in Cleveland, and especially in Brooklyn.

Derek Fisher and Nate Robinson are up there but Mark Jackson would probably be my #1. He has a history of purposely dividing locker rooms and organizations as a player and a coach. Not to mention his awful phony personality and off-court nonsense.
Genuinely curious, what offcourt nonsense?

when your teammate looks like a 2k in game player with his facial expression during practice, i kinda dont want him in practice.

He cheated on his wife of 20 something years with a stripper. It got exposed when the stripper tried to extort him by threatening to reveal his inappropriate pictures to the public unless he paid her. By the way, he was a pastor at the time. Story here: https://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/Woman-man-charged-in-Mark-Jackson-extortion-case-3672018.php
This more innocent but still ridiculous story of Mark Jackson taking Steph Curry to his congregation so he could heal Steph's ankle. Story here: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/ex-warriors-coach-mark-jacksons-church-tried-to-heal-stephen-currys-ankle-with-oil/
Jackson flaunting his homophobia and telling people that Jason Collins and Rick Welts (Warriors' Team President at the time) were "penis grabbers" who were going to hell. His beliefs are his beliefs, but it's pretty stupid to voice that publicly when you're working for the team.

Not wanting to play with and toxic aren’t the same thing. Kyrie is far from toxic, hell he seems to be a very compassionate caring person.

Lebron. For as toxic as players like Kyrie or KD are, they are at least well known toxic players who dont hide it. Bron hides a lot of his toxicity in the shadows and has a lot of people fooled into thinking he is great for the game

I am actually a sneakerhead. Had the Penny II in 6th grade which was the highlight of my shoe life. I have always avoid buying Jordan's even though I usually have some sort of Nike Air. Just because I wouldn't want to contribute to his business as directly as that, and surely not wear his logo.
Unfortunately for me, I am fond of the University of Cincinnati basketball team but they use the Jordan brand for their jerseys.

You are right from an outright evil (allegedly) perspective. I read the question as basketball related, rather than just a total **** of a person in general

Well he doesn't have a contract in the league currently. Maybe he used to be the most toxic if you want to judge by crimes that people have been recently caught and charged.
