Germany doubled and at times even tripled Luka, and rest of Team Slovenia seemed to be unable to adjust to the fact they had lots and lots of free space (seemingly they thought Luka will handle it anyway, putting their hands in the pockets and waiting Luka to do some magic). It didn't help Luka very clearly got frustrated at the refs, at his team-mates, at the opposing players, etc.

Germany outrebounded Slovenia 10000 to 1...or at least it felt like that.
Multiple instances where Germany was able to snatch 3 or for offensive rebounds before they eventually scored.
It really looked like adults playing with children in regards to rebounding.
Wasn t aware that that might be Slovenias weak spot. Or was it just today or is Germany a bad match up for them?

They really looked terrible today.

I think it will Look very different at Eurobasket. Still a Surprising result, especially since Germany was missing Bonga, Zipser, Theis, Kleber, Hartenstein, Pleiß and M. Wagner.

That first dunk by Giannis...
I don't think I've ever seen a basketball do that after a dunk: slam on the floor so hard like a voleyball spike, and then bounce all the way past the basket height again. That's Darryl Dawkins stuff.

Giannis and Sabas look way better this summer in FIBA games. Guys adapted finally.

After bouncing on the floor?
Yeah I was thinking D-Rob, Shawn Kemp, prime Dwight, there can't be too many who might have done something like that
Takes a big guy for sure

D-Rob had a lot of these kind of dunks, b/c he slam with two hands from the back with a lot of power.

The commentary in Europe for any sport is so much better then in a America.

It’s really nice to see the game slow down for giannis.

Everything is better, except for the players.

Rules and refs make more sense, you don't have to wait for 1,000 regular season games to finish before you can see all the teams and players actively trying their best to win, crowds are interested in the game instead of eating nachos and taking selfies, there are not so many ads and breaks in the game, coaches are actually allowed to coach and say what they think, etc etc

Only reason I bother to follow the NBA is because all the good players have left Europe. For me, other than having the best players in the world, the NBA is a crappy league.

Once again Norway did a great job defensively and on the board against a bigger team, but the biggest story this game was the scorching Norwegian shooting (20/32 or 62,5%)! Harald Frey led all scorers with 26-5-5, but Ndiaye (19 pts on 5/6 3pts) and Mjøs (17 pts on 5/7 3pts) also really showed up.

Denmark's big star Lundberg, who got a couple of games with the Suns last season, was held to 16 and 7 on 5/11 shooting and turned it over 5 times.

Is that actually you? If so, you should make a "ask a former NBA player anything"-thread.

Nah, its not the real Torgeir. I just called it that as a tribute to the only NBA player we've ever had.

Also, their defense is pretty turrible.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

The commentary in the domestic languages is definitely great in some countries, but these English speaking FIBA and Euroleague commentators suck.

I wouldn't really call that double and triple teaming. They had Luka's man essentially overplay him at the three point line while the help defenders sagged off their men and made sure to crowd the paint at all times, similar to what the Tom Tibadough (yea too lazy to look up the spelling) Bulls used to do against LBJ, but of course without the defensive three seconds rule. It worked really well for them, as you said, cause the other Slovenians weren't making shots.

Yeah. You just don't win at this level when through 3 quarters Jonas Wolfahrt-Bottermann had more points than Goran and Zoran Dragic combined. There was zero support for Luka except for a pick and roll play with Tobey here and there.
And with the emergence of Dennis Schröder in the second half (was scoreless at halftime) the game was over.

Never looked skinny on video tbh. It was just one random picture where he looked skinny. Even girls on IG pull that off every day. Or he maybe even just had diarrhea the week before and legit lost some weight.
