FFP is suppose to apply to a multi year period of losses. Arsenal reported like £107 million in losses for the year ending May 2022.

But they’ve spent heavily in the past two years, about £250 million. They may spend more for this season, supposedly considering buying Neto.

They also ate the contracts of former players like Ozil.

Last season, Emirates looked pretty full, at least in the Amazon doc, especially latter half of the season.

Presumably they’re going to do well with attendance and things like jersey sales this season, unless Things really fall apart.

Arsenal probably won't be punished, the lack of European football has impacted their FFP restrictions hence them being on the watchlist. Also they sell out their stadium pretty often as well so they will be fine, they just need to maximise selling their players to help out a bit more.

It's funny though, UEFA aren't likely to hand out harsh punishments for some of the teams on the list because of their name (Barca I'm looking at you in particular). However if this was any other team, they'd have a points reductions and other punishments.

That is the danger for Klopp right now, not adapting the tactics when you don't have the players for it anymore is what destroyed Mourinho's rep. Pep did the same mistake before he made City more direct offence, defensively better balanced. You can't blame VVD,Gomes for the high line defending because Klopp is playing midfield that dont fit his tactics. Without ball winners, ball carriers his midfield don't work at all. You can't blame Milner for being slow at 36, Elliott not being powerful like Gini was.

Agreed, Klopp's tactic of having a higher line and ultra attacking full backs can work if you have the right CM's in your team. That cannot work with Milner and Elliott (although he can improve his strength etc), you need high quality midfielders to work. The tactic can be found out easily if you hit the ball into the flanks where Liverpools full back will be and if you get your winger on to the ball. You just need to have a lot of width and press Liverpool to force them into a mistake, I said earlier this year that Trent is a suspect defender and Elanga cooked him in that match too easy. Maybe Trent can go back into his original position as a CM and Liverpool go searching for another RB. It's not like its hard to find attacking RB's these days anyway.

Southampton definitely deserved at least a point there.

Haaland looks like a safe bet to win top scorer title in PL.

Agree, pretty lackluster win for MU but they all counts at the end of the day.

He's unbelievable. Now factor in the likes of De Bruyne, Gundogan, Cancelo, Foden, Bernardo etc. feeding him. He's going to break records for sure.

This Fulham team is battling. Arsenal have had some tidy interplay and attacking intent but Fulham are hanging in there. 1-0 up off of a Gabriel mistake.

1-1 now as I say that.

You're joking, what a **** goal to concede.

Entertaining game but weird goals all around.

Yeah City should be able to do what they did against CP in the second half for whole games against most EPL clubs, just keep the ball on the opponents end and keep getting quality shots.

I didn't watch the first half but I don't know how they don't play like that for whole matches.

1-0 up from an early Kane strike. We look dangerous every time we break but I feel like we concede too many chances and don't control games. For that reason I can't see us being title contenders, unless that can change. Our first halves tend to be poor, too.

Love Richarlison already. Boils piss immediately upon coming on and gets an assist.

Martin Tyler and Carragher silent when we got our second. The bias is disgusting. I genuinely **** hate Martin Tyler, I don't know how he still has his job after his Hillsbrough comments. Ruins every game he commentates these days.

Watch the Man yoo game and then went to a resort with the fam so just checking in. 9-0 holy smokes, need to watch some highlights.

Monster game from De Gea, loving Martinez, and we finally got a clean sheet. I'll take it.

I think the furore about Martinez' height has been overblown. Yes, he'll get targeted by some teams but I think he actually looks very promising both on the ball and in the air. Playing alongside Varane allows him to do what he's good at, rather than covering for that slug Maguire.

Might be a lofty comparison but I see a little bit of Fabio Cannavaro in his tenacity, positioning, and also their similar stature. If he projects to be even 3/4 of the player Cannavaro was, you've got something special.

So Brighton with 10 points, only a GD of 4.

Liverpool has 5 points with a GD of 8.

One of the teams Brighton beat is an improved Leeds, which has 7 points and killed Chelsea.

But the clubs have only played 4 matches so no season-long patterns yet.

Brighton started last season's campaign well, too. They're a very good side, with the best English coach in Graham Potter.

I expected them to drop off without Bissouma and Cucurella but there's nothing to suggest that just yet.

Scott Parker sacked after 4 matches, after he helped Bournemouth get promoted last season.

Disgrace.
