He's a good young player that still has loads of potential, so I see no issue here. I know people will cry overpay, but Jaylen Brown signed a similar contract years ago (for less money though) and look where he is now. Remember that people clowned the **** out of that deal. I don't know much about RJ's work ethic, but hopefully he keeps improving and lives up to that contract so it becomes a bargain for the Knicks down the line.

The real question, like Woj said, is if this takes the Knicks out of the Mitchell sweepstakes. If they can still pull it off, good for them.

Honestly, I’d take RJ over Mitchell so I wouldn’t worry about it too much if I was a Knicks fan.
