I guess I don't necessarily disagree that Giannis doesn't know how to play the game like many of the true true greats. His BBIQ doesn't hold a candle to those guys and that's masked by his physical ability. The idea that he needs to play more minutes to be truly great, especially given the pace now vs. then is comical.

TBH, I don't hate Gilbert's work, and wouldn't put him in the 'hot take' category at all given the standard ESPN sets, he goes places a lot of other guys aren't willing to and it's refreshing at times.

Giannis isn’t in, and doesn’t care to be in the beta fraternity. That’s the majority of the stupid baseless takes.

I think he's a bit underrated when it comes to feel for the game. It'll show more once he gets past 32 or so.

Usually the hoops savants are the LeBron, Magic, Oscar, CP3, Bird, Jokic types, etc.

Yea, but when is he going to finally learn how to work on his body?

I was surprised to see that Giannis has more career points than Kyrie in 2 fewer seasons despite the fact that Giannis didn't score 20 a game until his 4th season.

28.8/14.5
31.7/16.0
34.8/16.6
30.2/16.1
27.0/14.5
30.0/14.0

Kareem's PPG/RPG averages for his 6 years in Milwaukee. Insane. 17 Seasons averaging over 20 PPG, with the last being in 1985-86 with 23.4 PPG at AGE 38! Durability: Kareem's 3 lowest seasons of regular season games played: 65, 74, 76. I wouldn't push hard for him in the GOAT conversation either, but he at least deserves a mention every time.

Recency bias is a hell of a drug. Kareem has a better GOAT case than Lebron does TBH.

Yeah, he's always been underrated to me. That title in Milwaukee was huge for his legacy IMO. Yeah, it was a great team but (judging just by stats since i wasn't alive) is he was the dominant player at age 23 in a 4-0 finals sweep. 27/19 on 60% shooting. I think only him and Russell were dominant players on championship teams in their younger 20s.

Huge opportunity for Giannis this September to add a gold medal to his personal collection. I know on your side of the Atlantic nobody cares but it is a massive thing for European fans. There's still a lot out there who believe that the NBA doesn't really count because *reasons*

Winning with this roster would be awesome because it's not quite impossible, just hard enough to make it epic.

Sorry if this was posted before, but I found this after the G. Arenas crap. BJ Armstrong shows some love:

It would be quite the Herculean run to the Championship game. I'm hoping the key rotation guys will be available and ready to go (Sloukas, Kostas, Papagiannis). A Eurobasket win would be quite a feather in his cap against a loaded field. Bonus points if it's a revenge game against Jokic's Serbia in the Final.

Giannis getting some serious love by executives.

Problem is MVP is voted by media and their decision making can be influenced by narrative more than anything.

I think for MVP it's
#1 embiid
#2 Luka
#3 Giannis
#4 steph
#5 jokic
#6 ja
#7 LeBron
#8 Tatum
#9 KD
#10 KL

I think everyone will want to give it to embiid, so even if Giannis is even with him embiid will get it.

They'd rather give a third MVP to steph before Giannis.

If Luka shines bright they may just hand it to him saying look at what he's doing all by himself.

Giannis would have to hit 30ppg solid bucks we need to be no worse than a #2 seed, or at least a #1 seed for a significant amount of time and they would have to win every big national game with Giannis going off.

Maybe Giannis would have to show some extra stuff in his game like some Tim Duncan moves in Marquee matchups like Xmas day or bucks vs warriors, bucks vs Dallas, bucks vs 76ers etc.

I really don't think the media wants to give Giannis a third MVP because it puts him on par with the greats (Larry bird, Dr j, MO Malone) and would love to give one to embiid/Luka or a shiny new toy like Tatum or Ja. Or reward steph post finals MVP.

I still think Giannis is third because his numbers will be insane as always, forcing himself into the conversation.

IMO based on his playoff performances the past couple years and the fact that he didn't win MVP in either of them, it's his to lose this year. I don't think voters are sold on Embiid at all; he'd have to have an overwhelming year to overcome this year's narrative: Giannis is clearly the best player in the world, so how come he doesn't have more MVPs?

Last 4 years, Embiid has a first round sweep exit, an upset loss to a low seed, and two 2nd round exits where he scored less than 20/game. It's not all his fault but it's a **** CV.

Biggest threat is Luka.

That last Greece game he hit a Timmy jumper off the backboard. Haven't seen that and I want to see it all the **** time now.

Too many options. Legit downside of being the freak. Guys work on go to stuff because they have to.

Ya when he's paying nerf ball against children out there there's little need for those Tim Duncan moves but man I love them.

I hope enough media feel the same way, that it's his to lose.

Let's see if "I care about winning" Harden sets up his teammate as a Robin and let's embiid shine. I'm skeptical. I just don't trust east coast media bias.

Jaded bucks fan talking.
