They have actually sacked him because he criticised their process. If he doesn't agree with how they've decided to attack the prem then they are right to go their separate ways imo.
I don't necessarily disagree with Parker's comments, just the timing of them. Their squad probably is a bit light compared to their promotion peers and certainly the established Premier League teams. It doesn't help to hear it after a 9-0 loss, though, I'll agree on that.
If we sacked every manager who ever criticised their club's ownership or transfer strategy then there would be very few managers left. Parker also publicly defended Maxim Demin when he was being linked to Putin at the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, so I don't think it's a personal issue.
It seems like there's something more going on behind the scenes beyond the surface level for Demin to issue such a passionate statement because I still think it's a pretty harsh sacking.
